Since we’re throwing money around, can we please hire the best Oline coach in the country? A real guard/tackle whisperer. This season could have been so much more inspirational.

This guy is available, because it would have taken more than a good OL coach, which we already have, to have made this season "so much more inspirational." It would have taken wizardry.

Now back to the "Elephant" in the room

I think there has been enough threads about Pruitt after the Vandy debacle...

Any oline coach can't take 270-280 pound players in the SEC and have much better results than we saw. Add to the fact we had the battle that there were some instances of players not wanting to be there/not giving their all. I think that position group is what Pruitt was referencing with the quote of we either had to play somebody or nobody. There wasn't much of an option.

Inferior o-line play ≠ bad coach.

Friend is an excellent coach who inherited poorly prepared (mentally and physically) players.

Every single coach on the staff --especially Friend---knows the lines (both) are the most important areas for improvement this off season. Be patient and give him (them) a reasonable amount of time to effect change to players and a culture that was neglected for years.

We do? Did it look like our OL improved even a tiny little bit from week 1 to week 13?
Lost Trey Smith. Lost Brandon Kennedy. Forced to move Tatum to LT. Jahmir Johnson was injures part of the season (and weighed 270 pounds). So to answer your question, no it didn’t, for good reason. Can’t gain weight and strength in the middle of the season to the point of it making a difference

What about these linemen's weight kept them from lining up without a penalty or from even getting a hand on their guy? Why did most of them stand around while their qb got murdered time and time again? What exactly is an O-line coaches job if not to help the players improve in these areas regardless of talent level?

I'm not saying we don't have a good staff but undersized or lack of talent don't explain most of the issues I seen on the line.
