Just wanted to throw this out there. Sounds like the ND faithful are getting restless, and there's even been talk of a buyout. Now, I don't see any possible way that ND buys out Weis, since it would be a monstrous payday, but the rumors are at least floating around.

Will the possibility of Notre Dame entering the coaching search fray impact our decision making on the next HFC? Would we be forced to step it up a little bit if it looks like there is any possibility of a competition with ND?

Discuss.

There is no way they buy out Weiss. It would be a knee jerk reaction because they're scared Tennessee gets Brian Kelly and they want him after Weiss is gone.

I'm thinking the same way, but they've made some crazy moves in the past. I think the buyout is over 20 million...

Nothing really is being said right now about buying Weis out. If he doesnt at least make a bowl game he will be on the hot seat for sure. Also Kelly is not who they want if Weis does leave, trust me.

Who do they want? Meyer and Gruden?

Weiss has at least 1 more year. Buy-out in todays economy would be too tough for the boosters.

20 Million! Their AD makes Hamilton look really conservative.

He got a 10 year, bazillion dollar contract after taking ND to the Fiesta Bowl and a top 10 ranking in his first year after the program had wandered in the wilderness under Davie and Willingham.

In all fairness, there is a pretty strong argument that head football coach at ND should be the highest paying position in college sports.

They would love to get Gruden but he has turned ND down once so I don’t think they will peruse him again. A lot of the boosters really like Jim Harbaugh and there are some other names that would surface but Kelly is not high on their get list in the future.

I guess you are an assistant to the AD there?

Why,so they can at least beat USC? In that case why not go after Mike Riley?

I actually like both of those coaches and hope neither make it to South Bend.

I loved watching the goofy look on Weis's face as they were getting beat by BC last week. Watching Notre Dame lose is one of the only true joys I have had this football season. Sorry Clauson, and Golden Tate, maybe next year! NOT!!!

ND's AD just released a statement that Charlies performance would be evaluated after the season was over, and NOT during the season.

Any team that puts Army and Navy on their schedule doesnt deserve to be called a football team.
