I had OR and FL down as loses back in August and that has not changed. My prediction of Auburn as a win though is looking a little supsect??

Yes it depresses me to lose to hated FL but the fact is we had 90% of last years offensive production go pro, and the worst D in the country is still in tact (although improved IMO). Would be nice if we could keep them off the field occasionally though. We simply don't have the players to compete with top 25 teams, it saddens me to say that but it is fact.

Our personnel WILL get better, we picked up another 4* commit today surprisingly!

And I will keep posting the below again and again!

Got my first season tickets this year and I don't think I have ever been this excited for Football Season.

I will Cheer until I am hoarse at games.

I will be insufferable when we win.

I will be completely depressed for days when we loose.

I will not live and die on every play (of course I will).

I will drink all the booze I can get my hands on while tailgating (its my Duty and I will not shirk it).

And I will support my beloved Vols no matter what happens!

Ahhhhhhh Football Time in Tennessee!

Flame away boys, flame away!!

We are exactly where we thought at this time.

It still sucks but no surprise.

Better days ahead.

How far into the game, on average, does it take you to starting screaming "neigh"? I haven't quite yet encountered this phenomenon.

I think Auburn is a toss up. They are better than they were last year, but they still aren't very good. I'm glad it's at Neyland.

I think they make a pill for your condition. Reach out for some help. We are about 10 years removed from that kind of response. By the way, if you cheer until you're 'horse', that might not be so good. How about cheer until you're hoarse.:eek:lol:

Agree 100%. I had us 3-2 going into the stretch with us needing to upset either Auburn or mizzou to get to 6 wins. I still think that is possible.

I've been living and breathing UT football for over half a century. Way too late to change now if I wanted to. I plan on being around for at least a couple of more up and down cycles for the record. Right now I'm getting a kick out watching the gloom and despair being spread around on VN. Honestly, like most things in life, the journey back to the top is the most rewarding and I have seen it enough times to know.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but I believe we beat Florida had Worley started. I don't have any room to talk though. I was calling for Peterman to start all week....

I know everyone is tired of hearing this but its going to take time for Butch to clean this damn mess up

With the turmoil of DD and a new coaching staff, that has been here all of 8 months, this year was going to be throwaway year imo, sad but true.

If we can somehow get to a bowl, then this year is a success. Again, JMO.

I agree. The season has gone exactly by the script.

I agree. The season has gone exactly by the script.

First off, we had no business playing Oregon. I'll take all the heat anyone can bring on that point.

Second, it isn't Butch's fault that Florida was not only beatable, but also looked completely inept on offense for the first quarter.

I see marked tangible improvement on special teams and defense. Until we find a QB that will have to be good enough.

That being said, even with the QB situation, this offensive staff has to come up with something that looks like a coherent offensive plan, Worley or not.

UF was a winnable game. I am disappointed that the staff was not able to capitalize. Oregon was always a long shot but the margin is embarrassing.

That said, the test of their ability to coach is as much how they improve a team as anything else. Jones' post game comments indicates he's hanging his hat on that. He wants to develop his players to execute his scheme rather than changing his scheme to match the players. I still think they need to work more on getting easy completions for the QB and WR's... But I do understand and respect the decision to mold the program into a particular form even if there's some pain involved.

The caveat to that is that it is HIS decision and he will rise or fall with it. I respect his courage and decision... but it still has to work for him to keep the job.

I don't disagree with anything you have said. Any route over 10 yards is a wasted route until we can loosen up the middle of defenses.

The real caveat is this: Is there such a thing as an easy completion for Worley. It hasn't looked like it so far.

This. Anybody that looked at our schedule could only have us at 7-5 tops with an upset of FL,USC, GA to get there. Other wise it's 6-6 and the big games are vandy. Mizzu. Auburn. So like OP said. Right where I thought we would be. Had a chance at beating FL but didn't get it done.

Just one home run hitter at WR or RB would do wonders for the offense. We've got nobody at those positions that a defense has to worry about getting beat over the top or to the corner.
