Not impressed with Kiffin

He could very easily have two more losses to UT and Arkansas.

He didn't impress me the day Hamilton hired him and he still doesn't.

So far all he's shown is he can win at FAU and he can call plays well with Saban and Carroll's 5* players.

Last sentence is true of almost every Saban disciple. The notable exception that wins is Smart and it is because he brings in the 5-stars. And I would argue as a pure coach he isn’t very good either. Even in the NFL where the system is designed around talent parity, Saban wasn’t that good.

Unless you are willing to cheat to get players and win at all costs the Saban tree is largely fools gold.

I read on Twitter just now that Lane Kiffin has zero wins vs ranked teams as a head coach. That can’t be right…can it?

Well ole miss beat Arkansas earlier this season when arky was ranked either 12 or 13, so I don’t think that’s right.

Do you mean as HC at Ole Miss or just in general?

South Carolina was ranked at the Black Out game in 2009 the one year Kiffy was here.

I absolutely agree that Smart isn’t very good. He’s clearly not an intellectual thinker nor is his strategic decision making high level. It’s amazing how great of a coach one can be with elite athletes.
