Hi I am from K-Vegas also known as Kernersville NC. Huge volfan.... I was born and raised in Oak Ridge TN. I think there are alot of volfans here in North Carolina. I was at my sons basketball game a couple of weeks ago and was suprised by all of the orange that people had on. I quess that you can tell a true vol fan when they wear their colors when their team is having a down year. Nice to talk to other volfans. Go vols!

I agree, volsmommy. I have been just as dissappointed with this season as anybody, but I still wear my orange proudly, and hold my head up high doing so!

Actually, if i'm being truthful, my wife is from Pittsburgh, and is a HUGE steeler's fan...and while i do like the Steelers...always did when i was a kid, loved T. Bradshaw and that Defense....i have to admit, i hope Peyton gets the ring this year. I can say that on here because my wife will never see it!!! And since i live in Charlotte, i root for the Panthers too...

but like a good husband, i'll be sitting there tonight wearing my Hines Ward jersey rooting like heck for the Steelers! I'm still a fan, just not a stupid one....

PS...i wouldn't have had been able to put the "T" up unless the other side was done in Black and Gold....that's what we call compromise in my house!! Go Steelers!

At least your wife will watch with you, mine usually leaves, says I get to loud and obnoxious. I have a signed pcture of John Stallworth, my Dad sold him his chain link fence to go around his new house (in Huntsville Al) many years ago. Loved the Steele Curtain! and the way they dominated the cowgirls back in the day!

Im in cary NC near RDU airport.
I grew up in knoxville before moving to NC in 1988. I went to UNC Chapel Hill. I grew up watching a football tradition and went to school with a storied basketball tradition. If only we could combine the two schools.

Well, i'll give you credit for your football alleigance, but UNC BBall fans are as bad as Bama football fans....and you KNOW this, MAN.

Probably off topic but I thought I would take moment to ruminate on the Tarheel State. I like your mountains. Spent several summers as a young boy at Camp Ridgecrest near Black Mountain and must have hiked the same 10 mile stretch of the A.T. about 50 times. I like Winston-Salem. It is a little dirty but any place that is home to Krispy Kreme can't be all bad. I like Wilmington. All the charm of Savannah and Charleston without the crowds. You have some fine academic institutions. I wish we had more in Tennessee. Overall, IMO, you have a nice clean state with an interesting range of topography and cultures.

I can vouch for that different culture thing here in Charlotte....everybody's from Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Cleveland, NY, Boston....Yankees coming south to roost. Of course had they not done that, i wouldn't have met my wife...oh well, you take the good with the bad i guess, but man they can't drive to save thier life.

Let's see if you can guess where I live in NC based on my screen name. Was in the Palmetto State for 7 years after 36 in the Volunteer State (Chattanooga and Knoxville). Glad to be back in the mountains.

Asheville is a very nice clean town, watch out for the earth, granola types in the downtown area, they really look out of place in the mountains. Remember NC doesn't end in Asheville theres still 100 miles of NC west of you.
Murphy High School is in the final round of the State Championships against Thomasville, go Bulldogs!!!! :yahoo:

Really? I would've thought they look more out of place in the City.
