He said British formation, not that you are actually fighting Brits. Do you guys really not know what he means by British formation? It's spot on, imo.
You make it seem as though a German army and a French army meeting on the field during this period would be fighting in British formations.
If youre refering to the armies lining up in lines and columns, that easily predates the British empire by at least a few hundred years. Im assuming youre talking about the Line formation which was used by England during the Americian Revolution. Of course you could be refering to the Column formation favoured and employed by the French. Your post was to vague for me to really determine what point you were trying to make.
