Can I ask a question to y'all? I went to Decatur and Huntsville the other day. I feel like they are much more Alabama fans at Middle Tennessee then Tennessee fans at Northern Alabama. Is that true?

I live in Huntsville, and I played college ball here. we had several Tn fans on both girls and guys teams. Now that I work here, I've found several Tn fans at work. Trust me there are plenty of UT fans in Huntsville.

My dad's side is from the Russellville area, my grandfather went to North Alabama (aka Florence State), and yes, there are alot of UT fans there.

I live in Florence and there are loads of UT fans here. Suprisingly, many don't necessarily have ties to the University.

I love going to visit my relatives in bama sporting a big orange T on my car. Of course they all live in B'ham so I'm sure to get lots of dirty looks and hand gestures.

:eek:lol: A huge grin usually gets a few more hand gestures. Going into bammer land can be a lot of fun if you have a sense of humor...

Believe me, you also need a thick skin. My grandfather has 3 pictures on his office wall: one of my late grandmother, one of his friends when they landed in France in WWII and one with him accepting a coaching award from Bear Bryant. Shows you where UT probably fits in the fam.

I'm surprised he allows you in his house. Does he speak to you if are wearing the orange? Again, a big smile only increases the tension... :whistling:

My dad took most of the anger since he ran off and went to UT first (actually 1st to go to college). This made my g-mom a closet UT fan and even made him madder. He's 85 and has mellowed (a bit).

Quite a few people who go to MTSU don't like UT because they both are Div. 1 in football and UT won't play them. I don't think they are Alabama fans, they just don't like Tennessee.

A lot of people around here believe that if Coach Bryant had been in charge of the Allied Forces instead of Eisenhower that we would have won WWII in less than half the time. Including me!

I just hope you aren't saying the same about Nick Saban in 20 years. Then again he is only due about three years before he takes another job.

If Nick Saban had been in charge of the Iraq War, Americans would be vacationing in Mesopotamia as we speak!:)

How would UT benefit by playing MTSU? There's no reason to schedule a team like that. However, bama has no problem scheduling MTSU so you may be on to something :) When will they ever man up and play UAB is the real question.

I know, it doesn't make sense. But some over there think that they deserve to play UT. I think that they have been partying too much.:ermm:
