They making a big deal about Makayla Williams and Milaysia Filwiley who are both great, but the difference makers on this team may be in the post. Zakiyah Johnson is listed as a guard, but plays that 4 spot like Nina Davis did at baylor. Z Johnson has got the goods.
The last few seasons is the longest Kim Mulkey has gone without either a Conference or Conference tournament championship in her career. She is in position to compete this year. Guard play in this league, and when playing for a national championship is crucial. Vandy and LSU probably have the best back courts in the SEC this year. Dawn has her hands full this season, and Vic is handing the keys over to Rori Harmon's backup, so both South Carolina and Texas are going to be interesting to me. I guess Vic can go to Madison Booker if he has to, considering she played the position pretty effectively as a freshman. Dawn, on the other hand, is so stacked at every position except the pg spot. I see she added a very unknown 5-7, 5th-year PG to the roster, but can a less-than-elite PG make an impact on this team, or is this just someone who can get the ball up the court and get the team into an offense and not do much else. Should be interesting. I don't think I see anyone running the conference this year without a loss or two and probably some pretty big surprises along the year.LSU is going to be a handful this season, I believe they will challenge for the top spot in the conference.
Kitts and Watkins have been full go in practices, but both probably will not play much in the exhibition today. The starting five once the season begins will almost certainly be Edwards, Kitts, Johnson, Makeer and Lee. Watkins, Robinson and Tournabize will get a lot of minutes. Tac has reportedly had a great camp, she may start today in the post as they ease Kitts and Watkins back in and Tournabize is recovering from a broken finger suffered a month ago while playing for Team France. The guard that transferred in from Michigan will likely get a chunk of minutes today as they evaluate what they have in her.I’m going to watch the SC scrimmage today. I have a pretty elite YTTV sports package.
Any idea of the starting lineup for today or is there still competition for some positions that are open? How is Kitts and Watkins progressing in rehab to return to action? Good luck to you guys.
Damn. The scourge of WBB strikes again.

If Makeer avoids the sophomore slump she will challenge for All SEC honors in some capacity, she is the rising star. Edwards is a returning All American and Kitts is a former All American. Johnson and Lee are the snipers but Johnson will be playing PG some and it is to be seen if that impacts her offense.
Tessa and Agot were rated 5 stars. Joyce Edwards was rated 5 stars, as were Jordan Lee, Watkins and Kitts. Andrews and Wynn were also 5 stars who we cannot make a judgement on yet as they recover from injuries, but they both are reported worthy of that ranking thus far. Like you, I believe O. Edwards is undeveloped thus far, but her ranking was always based on upside with her athleticism. So the rankings look pretty clean to me on the mentioned players.SC 36 Charleston 28
The Gamecocks are starting to pull away in this game. The guard play has been solid with Tessa and Agot.
I will say this and it is not a knock on any team especially SC, they look strong and are the SEC favorite but this is the reason you fans should never take Skim, 94feet, or that other little social media handle seriously with their recruiting/women basketball media analysis. None of them have a clue.

I’ll bite here, what did they all say that today’s scrimmage did not validate? I’ll hang up and listen.SC 36 Charleston 28

Fatmata, Harrisoum and Riley all come from below average programs, meaning they could be average and get up numbers. The best we got was Moore and Smikle and Moore hasn't played a game in 2 years and Smikle only made it through 7 games last year. Three of the SEC players you mention come from bottom-feeding teams and the other two were injured, but you have them as the next best thing. They haven't shown anything in a long time. Sira Thienou would have been an amazing pickup for Tennessee with her speed, quickness and shooting abilit and that is what CKC's system is built on and she played last year for an NCAA tournament team and deferred to a first round draft pick on that team for scoring. All of that matters. Riley is the only one you mentioned that played in the tournment last year and that ended in the first round and she was a 3rd offensive option on Georgia's team. 4 of the 5 you just mentioned did not even participate in the NCAA tournament last year. Let that sink in. They either sat out with injury or their team didn't make the tournament. Say whatever you would like, but at least be a realist. I just hope Smikle and Moore can make it through the season. Both have been injured 2 out of their last 3 seasons and only played limited games in those seasons. Smikle has 55 games over 3 seasons and Moore Missed all of last year and only played 61 games the 3 seasons before. You have it all figured out though. SMH....You have all those amazing takes…. I wish the best for the kid and hope she has a speedy recovery. She did well at Ole Miss. And perhaps was ready to take the next step at Auburn. Yet it’s remarkable how you attempt to exaggerate the ability of any and every player in the SEC that isn’t on Tennessee’s roster. This player averaged 9.7 ppg and 5.7 rebs. You labeled them extremely talented.
Yet Kaylene Smikle, Aaliyah Moore, Fatmata Janneh, Harrisoum Coulibaly, and Riley Theurkauf in the ACC, SEC, and Big 10 all have had seasons with better statistics. You downplay their ability against the same level of competition as if you got a personal issue with these players because they CHOOSE Tennessee. I can’t take posters like this seriously.
