Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2026-27

Not sure it really matters. More talent available immediately. We may actually survive this cycle…
I really thought Kim could make some headway next year with the incoming class and who she had returning. This has turned into a disaster. She won't have a core group to work with and the incoming players through the class and the portal will have to find time to figure out who they are and how to play together. Losing "O" if that happens makes it nearly impossible. Kim and the Lady Vols are in for a rough year and a harsh end to her career. I hate it for you guys. We need a strong Tennessee program in the SEC.

Not sure she winds up with a lesser roster or not. Can she upgrade at a non bought in Cooper? Three point shooters? A couple of energetic posts? How difficult can it be, with a little bit of faith? 😉

This makes me sad. Many people get elevated into leadership roles without learning how to be a leader, let alone just how to treat people. As sad as it makes me, kudos to Virginia for being bold enough to make a change. I hope they can keep Kymora. She is a baller.

Oh man, that is sad. I’ve never understood people in leadership positions who treat others poorly. You want your people behind you because they believe in you not because they are intimated/scared by you.

She’s getting paid $1,000,000 plus per year. The buck is supposed to stop with you at that level.
Never said she was blameless. But it is not 100% on her. Don’t give a damn how much money anyone makes. No I in team. That staff is a team just as much as the players are. & all of them together are a team. Everyone failed at different areas from the top down. As she stated In her final presser. It’s never just one persons fault. There’s layers to it & clearly none of us know what those layers consist of.

Don’t care if it is 100, 98, 52%. What part of “She is the boss” don’t you get??
“I don’t know why the program burned to the ground, your honor. I just drove the getaway car.”

Not sure if I will be on much until next season starts, will head to Maine in May until late October to fish and bird hunt, decompress and just find the rhythm of life I suppose. I truly enjoyed another season of WBB and not just because SC made the final four. I enjoy the game of WBB and will always watch the game every season until the very end. I like to celebrate the winners, whomever they end up being. I have been around here for a spell, have many folks I consider friends now through these years. For my UT friends, I understand this season was far from even your worse expectations, and I want to say I know that. I have the same hopes for your program that you do going forward.

As for the game of WBB, one thing is certain, they will get their own seperate TV deal one day and it will change things considerably for the better. Keep the faith.

Yall are cute. You just wanna be right so bad & want everything to be ONLY one persons fault. It’s not a black & white scenario, never is. But you do you, bro.

Nope, wishing I were wrong. It can be multiple people’s fault but she’s the head peep. If Pruitt hadn’t got caught up with “McDonald’s bags”, you’d probably be supporting his sorry ass. But, you do you….bro.

So they fired her because her team left?
What a concept..
Most of them went before she got fired. Two or three have left after. I think they are at ten left right now. I think the main ones left for money offered elsewhere.

how is that the coaches
Fault
if they left for more money

athletic director
wouldn't give hard numbers
on Revenue sharing plan

Enjoy your time in Maine. I’ll be there for just a little bit in June for an annual naval base job; always feels like more than vacation than work. Hope you have a great summer full of excellent weather. Always good to decompress and remember there’s more to life than basketball.

I’ll likely be off here until next season as well. I stopped coaching this year and am starting a new, full-time financial position in two weeks. I look forward to next season and chatting with you and so many others.
If there are any Dallas/Fort Worth folks on here who might want to meet up for Dallas Wings games this season, please let me know!!!

when you cite the figures make sure to include that she led mizzou to a 4-12 record good for 14th place......

and Robin P's first year at mizzou..... was a 5-11 record in conference..... better than 4-12

i loved kellie as player but not as our coach.....
However, sure beats what we have now, IMO
And if you look at the overall SEC stats, this year's Missouri team, with a bunch of 6-foot or less nobodies, killed Tennessee and a lot of statistical categories. 3-pointers, 3point percentage, free-throw percentage, 3-point field goal percentage defense, and the big surprise, defensive rebounding. There is no way that the players Missouri has should have had better stats than Tennessee, yet they did. That is a coach putting players in position to be successful and getting buyin from those players.

Vic catching some heat looks like five players to transfer out of Texas.
Twitter is generally a toxic wasteland, so you never know what's legitimate or not on there. But, the heat around TX and what was going on behind the scenes is at epic proportions. This was also a thing that very few knew was happening when Vic was at Mississippi State.

I hope they get it turned around because he does field some strong teams. Praise the Lord, Hook em, and go Horns.

Twitter is generally a toxic wasteland, Absolutely!

Unless you offer substantiating facts, this is just rumor mongering. This was also a thing that very few knew was happening when Vic was at Mississippi State.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Booker? In the semifinals, she was shooting abysmally, but they still kept having her shoot with no one else getting involved. I know she’s an All American and great player, but I wonder if it left a bad taste in some of her teammates mouth.
