Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

This is what a good team should look like after a loss. Sad to think we probably don’t have this from our coaches or players. That’s a lot of the problem imo

That’s why we need a new coach and an overhaul of this roster, people on here want to bring back all these players that have no heart or a will to win, all because they are here now.

This game has been a fun one to watch. One of the asst coaches for the Ragin' Cajuns is Temeka Johnson, who played for LSU in the early 2000s and won a WNBA title with the Mercury in 2009.

Lady Vols' UConn fave (;);););)) DT was on that Mercury team.

Update: Louisiana pulls off the upset. They will advance to the second round in the Sun Belt to play ULM.

CONGRATULATIONS to beloved Lady Vol Kara Lawson on being named 2026 ACC Coach of the Year! 🎉
She is becoming a really good coach, she may be great one day, that is still to be decided later, but she is doing great in her profession so far. She likes hardware, and is pretty good so far collecting it. How far can she take it?

she really turned that ship around. still lost to UNC though 😏
Ha ha Britt. But yeah, she is starting to make some waves. If CDS retired tomorrow, I would wish for CKL as the replacement, that is just me. But so many similarities to CDS that it would be an immediate culture fit. That is what I think of KL. I don’t think she will ever leave Duke btw.

Behind enemy lines….she grew it and they came….12 straight years leading the nation in attendance and by a wide margin, about 5,000 fans more per game than the next placed team. It’s all the work of one woman. It can happen anywhere.

I get that you feel this way (you are not alone), but for the more "monogamous" fan, it's root for my team only. Root for other teams when their win will benefit my team.

I don't like Vic's constant whining. Not rooting for Texas. Didn't like him at Miss St. either. I don't really like Dawn, but respect what she has done and built. Still not rooting for her. Enjoyed seeing her melt down and lose it emotionally in the NC game last year. Mulkey? Oh hell no. Again, respect, but almost always root against LSU. Vandy? It does seem like if you get within five feet of Blakes you are getting a foul called on you. Get within two feet and they may go to the monitor to look for flagrant. Nope, not rooting for them.

If you are just talking money and TV contracts, I see your point. But as a "monogamous" fan, I'm not rooting for a conference and will not be one of these "SEC" cult-like chanters.

What a coincidence that you dislike the three head coaches of the SEC programs who have had the most post-season success the last 5 years or so. Let me guess, you like the Florida, A&M, and Miss. State head coaches . . . 🤣

Who could have imagined it.

I won’t argue semantics about the size of home stadiums affecting attendance averages. ;)❤️

Genuinely though, it’s very impressive. Almost a decade ago (2017), I was able to see SCar play a quarterfinal game in person in the SEC tourney. The fans showed up and showed out. Fantastic energy. Dawn put South Carolina on the map like other coaching greats, and she’s more than earned her flowers. It is nice to see the sport continue to grow and for each new great coach to grow their own legacy.

Meanwhile, Kenny Brooks is trying to see if he can outdo Kim:

Different to me because this is something he said to his player in private, not about her in public Only took it public once Strack had the big happy ending bow to tie on it.

Is he breaking his arm patting himself on the back for what a coaching genius he is? Of course, which is part of his act. But was he throwing her under the bus? I don’t think so. Strack has played for him a long time, he knows what to say to her.

Also, I bet you Pat Summit said this or something like this to Candace Parker more than once.

Geno has said the same to his players for decades as Kenny did. Geno clearly gets results. Pat Summitt was tough as nails and likely said similar things as well, just more lovingly. What Kenny said shouldn't even be a "story"
