Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

tsk tsk...

it's a fight between semantics and pedantic... I still profess that south cackle fans were disappointed not winning the NC.
Disappointed....yes.... are you disappointed that the Lady Vols didn't win it? It's the same and no different as you are implying. Did you expect to win the title? I did not after Watkins went down or even after we won the SEC tournament championship. There is a difference between expecting it and disappointed that it didn't happen. I have been disappointed we didn't win a championship in every sport and every year that has passed. Geez.....

There's a world of difference between Richland County and York County. It wouldn't bother me if Charlotte annexed all those yankees.

yes, I was but Tn didn't have 12 all Americans and back to back NC wins in their quiver like ole dawn Staley. Plus, Tn can boast that they beat the new champs fair and square so I was mollified at season's end not ashamed. lol

Who in gamecock fandom can possibly be disappointed at this juncture with who Dawn is bringing in? If the next birdie is Gianna we can start planning the parade.

Who in Gamecock fandom could be disappointed we didn't win the national championship this year???? Every Gamecock fan I know. I am not disappointed in a future team geez.....this was about gule trashing the fan base about this year's team. He tries to make something out of nothing and ends up with what he started with.....nothing.

you are wrong! I never trashed the fan base. I questioned the statement that "few SC fans were disappointed with not winning a NC this year."
it was a ridiculous premiss that I think Rooster came up with.

nm, I looked back and it was poultryguiest not rooster..

my bad but all you chickens look alike to me... j/k

Like I said...I would argue that EVERY fan was disappointed that we didn't win another title this year. I also pointed out that disappointment and expectations were two different things. It's all good gule. You just have some issues with Dawn and the team that goes back years. It's hard to change....lol....

Breaking Arkansas is demanding 200000 from the Iamaleva family.

Said player's would get university wanting money back.
This will affect women's basketball to.
Also the video said Tennessee might be looking to get money back from Nico
I say if Arkansas paid money for next season they should get a refund.
Same goes for Tennessee.
Seen somewhere university's where advising there boasters or NIL deals that support a university to put better buy-out or breach of contract terms in contacts they sign with players
Watch 5:13 talks about Tennessee possibly wanted some money back.
@chuckiepoo do you think Tennessee should try to get some money back if they can?
Know it's NIL deals - boasters not Tennessee that would go after money.
If don't want comment.
Just no comment response find to.

Absolutely they should go after any compensation paid for NIL events not fulfilled. Been saying that since the night the news came out.

Judge delays House settlement approval over roster limits

  • Dan MurphyApr 23, 2025, 07:16 PM ET
A federal judge told the NCAA and its members Wednesday that she would not approve the multibillion-dollar antitrust settlement that is expected to reshape the business of college sports unless they change a proposed policy for limiting roster sizes.
Judge Claudia Wilken said the NCAA's insistence on immediately implementing roster limits would cause some college athletes to lose their spot on their current teams and that she could not approve a settlement that would cause harm to some members of the plaintiff's class. She wrote that she did not have issues with any other parts of the proposed settlement and that the court "tentatively finds it can grant final approval" to the remainder of the settlement if the roster limits issue is resolved.
Wilken had suggested during a hearing for settlement approval earlier this month that the NCAA should consider delaying its new roster size rules to "grandfather in" current athletes.
"Those class members will be harmed because their roster spot will be or has been taken away as a result of the immediate implementation of the settlement agreement," Wilken wrote in her order Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the NCAA and defendant conferences said in a statement that they are "closely reviewing" Wilken's order.

So it looks like roster limits is all that prevents the judge from approving a settlement in House vs. NCAA

One reason we are posting here rather than on an SC forum is due to a lack of interest in WBB and our Lady Gamecocks. I wish they cared enough to be disappointed.

Ok, legit dumb question here...how could there be a lack of interest on the women's SC basketball forum when you guys have 18,000 fans every game? Isn't that considered extreme interest?

Check out Gamecock Central and Gamecock Scoop and see for yourself how much interest there is in our women's basketball team. You'll see a few threads which pale in comparison to what we have here. Many of the 18K are local Columbians and season ticket holders who obviously don't post on those forums.
