Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

Is this the type offense a player can be dismissed for?

Depending on what plays out this is the kind of offense that could have her in jail. Tough to be available when you’re incarcerated. Unfortunate situation.

Makes a tough moment for Staley, her team gets accused of “thuggery” and other such labels I do not agree with. I think they’re talented and they play really hard and really physical. That’s how I hope to see us playing.

But an offense like this gives flame to the fuel and only supports the narrative. Maybe it’s all a misunderstanding. Time will tell.

Somewhat similar situation playing out at TCU with Sedona Prince. Just not a good look.
You’re making reference to an assault felony of sorts? Don’t need a link. I just hate when kids make poor decisions based on poor behavior patterns. Made a few myself but never got caught up in the court system by the grace of God.

No charges have been pressed in that case, but an ex-girlfriend accused her of physical and emotional abuse. There is a petition with over 160,000 signatures to have her removed from the team. She has denied any wrongdoing and essentially said, “I’ll see you in court.”

Holly style issues on steroids. Eeesh, in that the issues spun beyond the control of the staff.

The story now is that the girl was a minor who was drunk, and Watkins tried to prevent her from going out to party. The kidnapping was based on Watkins trying to keep her from leaving. The assault was from grabbing the minor. I guess we will see moving forward what it was about.

This makes it worse, not better. What is she doing with a minor, drunk, in her campus housing?

Somewhere off in the distance, a older woman in sequined purple and gold - and pink feathers for some damn reason - looks up from her cellphone and yells at her staff: "Hey! HEY!!! ... How much NIL money we got left in the bucket?"

That is cynical.
It is nasty.
It demeans a person who has won multiple national championships.

And it is almost close enough to the truth to be mistaken for reality. o_O😙🥳

It was not known if the minor was visiting her or someone else. You can't control what others do when you are not around. They can come into the building as visitors if they know someone. The real story will come out later, but Watkins messed up by not calling someone to come get the minor instead of handling it herself if that's what even happened. If that's what happened she was trying to keep that girl out of trouble, and it backfired.

You lack integrity and so does anyone defending it.

Integrity? Seriously? I said she was wrong...I said what I heard, and I said it may not even have happened that way....and I admitted I didn't know the whole story. You are the one who lacks....but you lack reading comprehension skills. I did not defend the incident but posted what I had heard and said, "If that is what even happened". Maybe you should read what I said instead of just making things up. Reading is your friend, and you seem to have no friends (having no friends means you can't read, I know you will try to twist that also). Geez...

You have revealed who you are and your desire to win games blinds you from what is morally right and wrong. You serve as an example of everything that is wrong with our nation.

I won't comment on Watkins's legal problems and her status on the team, but instead of jumping to conclusions, we should wait for the situation to play out, good or bad.

As an SC fan, I know what Watkins's athletic abilities and experiences bring to the team, but we don't need to sacrifice the team culture for one player. I believe Coach Staley will take the appropriate action concerning this matter. I don't think she wants to repeat what happened with the TN transfer. With SC's depth and talents, we will continue to win and contend for the national championship with or without Watkins.

Speaking only for myself, what is morally right is to have access to all the relevant facts before
issuing moral judgments.

You serve as an example of everything that is wrong with our nation.
You are welcome to borrow my ladder should you decide to climb down from your high horse.

Nothing about a comment on a sports fan board rises to the level of an examplar of anything, much less everything, wrong with our nation. If you disagree with another person’s comment, try offering facts and logic in support of your contrary opinion. Save the histrionics for a more appropriate venue, like a middle school theatrical production.
