Yep. Nashtown has to be a much better place to live than a dump like Storrs. Besides, no income tax in TN vs. a tax and spend state like Conn.

Yea… Storrs isn’t a dump, but (basketball aside) it isn’t for everyone. Some kids want a big city experience that just happens to have a university and some want to go to school in a college town where the university is it. UConn has about 19,000 undergrads now, and most of them aren’t there for basketball or the Dairy Bar and a lot of them aren’t from Connecticut, so it does have a certain appeal to some people. But just like Storrs isn’t for everyone, Nashville isn’t either.

It takes all kinds of kinds.

Haven't been to Storrs, but I wouldn’t be too quick to call it a dump just because you don't like their sports teams.

Storrs the town is not much. But it has a New England bucolic beauty. The campus is new and well designed. The academics aren't bad as they are rated #23 public university. Hartford is an hour away and you can be in NYC in just over 2 hours or Boston in an hour and a half.

The question was which town would be better for a COACH, not players. When Auriemma hangs em up, players won't come any more.
I think they will for a while. Just like top players continued to come to UTenn after Coach Summitt passed. Unfortunately, Coach Warlick was unable to develope those players. I think that like Tennessee UConn will still be a recruiting draw for a short time after Auriemma leaves. Whether that continues will depend on the coaching and how the team does.

As for which town would be better for a coach mostly it's about the money but it's obvious that you have never been to Storrs if you call it a dump.

Hartford is the violent crime capital of New England, not to mention the armpit of the earth, and being 1 1/2 to 2 hours away from someplace isn't of much use to someone with the time commitments of an intercollegiate sport. The whole state is a dump unless you're ultra-wealthy and live in one of the most upscale areas.

I live in Connecticut and that is just bull.

I'm a middle class family living in a very nice suburb. And there are countless towns like the one I live in. Yes, the area near NYC like Grenewich and Stamford has plenty of ultra-rich, but you are wrong about the whole state being a dump. Ridiculous.

This is really dumb. Why the need to badmouth when it has nothing to do with women's basketball. I will repeat myself - they still keep coming to that dump Storrs. The current team starts 3 #1 Hoopgurlz recruit's, a #2 Hoopgurlz recruit and a Canadian that plays on her National team. Could it be because for them it's about basketball and anything else is secondary?

Let’s check back and see how many end up at Vandy!

Oklahoma putting it on Oregon in the first half. They are a different team. Coale had excellent players but her coaching style aged out and she didn’t stay up to date. Baranczyk has them playing great, really competitive and great movement on offense. Their defense could use some work though
