That’s the goal that I would like us to go after as a fan base.
What good does it do to merely fire an AD or a Chancellor, if the same family always replaces them.
Father Big Jim, son Jimmy (Browns owner), and son Bill (current Governor and UT BOT Chair) need to be held accountable by other donors, administrators, students, and fans of the University.

No more Haslam hires.
If this means that the Haslam family pulls their financial support, so be it.
We will just have to find the money elsewhere.
But, we should no longer be held hostage to their money if it means that they are the sole decision makers in hires.
It’s not like they have been hitting home runs at any level of our University with those they have chosen.

Get it trending, Vol fans.

Couldn't agree more. Somehow, at some point, the University sold it's soul for the almighty dollar.

Time to make decisions based on what's right, then let those that love the University support it. Not let the demon with the most money buy our actions.

We are basically prostituting ourselves. Haslams pay us to screw us.

All of us.
Higher ticket and concessions prices, if necessary.
Big donors that have the wherewithal to dig deeper.
Fund raising campaigns to offset the loss instead of the proposed Neyland renovations.
Bake sales? Car washes? Lol.
Haslam money is not the only money.

I keep hearing that argument. How much money do you believe they give each year?

How do you know we can't make it up through diligence, hard work, and proper planning.

And let me ask you, do you do anything for money, or do you have standards?

Is there something you won't do for money?

Who cares? You really think this is funny?

Look at the stadium last week. Look at what's happened over the past 10 years.

The truth is we cannot afford to continue to let one person dictate the future of the university's athletics fortunes. Every coaching hire has been botched over the past few years. When is the last time UT won a conference title in any sport?

Being successful will - by far - make up for any lost donations from one family. It's time to move on. As I said we can't afford not to.

I understand the Haslam family wanting to have power and play with all their little toys, UT, the Browns etc, but can anyone explain to me why they want to lord over a ****ty football program? Why would they not want to be the benefactor to a great winning program and have everyone love them instead of strangling this great program by hiring bad coaches over administrators over and over and have everyone hate them?

Are they just that inept that they think they are making good decisions?

I'm blown away that the university, academically and athletically, continues to rely on that cancerous family.

Success itself will bring in more money on both sides than what the Haslams put in. This shortsightedness is the crap that kills institutions.

It's funny you guys think there's a way to get the Haslam's tentacles out of UTAD. Not going to happen.

I mean obviously this family is not so good in the football business. Ex: Tennessee Football & and the Cleveland Browns. So far combined this year a total of 4 wins, all by Tennessee.

Bama did so with Bears family.
Auburn did so with Colonial Bank.
Why can’t we with the Haslams?
Do they really RUN our University? And, if so, why?
Just how much money do they give?
I’m not being snarky. I’d really like to know.

Let's take a look at the Haslam's three major ties:

Pilot: under FBI probe with executives (that they threw under the bus) charged with serious crimes.

Cleveland Browns: barely winning one game per season, fans treated like garbage, horrible draft and personnel decisions.

Tennessee Vols: academics placed under a misguided and failing mission by the prior chancellor (whom they had a hand in selecting), athletics in the toilet for the last 10 years.

Wise family, yes?

How do you know the "family" made this try at a hire?? There may by a 10,000 pound gorilla on the lose. (ever watch dish network commercials?). If you want to talk about big money look no further than this guy's net worth. Makes the "family", as a whole, look like middle class wanna bes. He may be flexing some muscle.....

If it's true about Haslam trading stadium upgrades for picking the HC, I'd rather let Neyland crumble to the ground. I'd rather have Neyland be the worst stadium in the country than let that loser pick our HC. Grow some balls Currie, stop being a tool.

I think Thornton, Anderson and especially Ergen will step up their game if they’re given more power and control in decision making. I think at least athletically, UTK can survive without the Haslam cancer.

Because all of the signs point to Jimmy Haslam. He pushed for John Currie to be made AD, that we know. He wanted Schiano at the Browns and destroyed the front office in the process of trying to get him.

The ties between Haslam and Schiano are pretty strong. Ergen may be worth 3 times as much, but he’s never had anything close to the flexing power of Haslam, mostly because of actual donations.

This thread needs to be pinned to the top.
Haslams need to go.

As long as the Haslams have the influence they do, UT will never be able to clean house and begin to right the ship.

Maybe ten times... Money can be flexing power. I'm just saying maybe he is tired of the status quo like most of us. I make no factual claims, but have heard talk that he may be starting to act..

Ergen is worth somewhere between $15-17b vs the around $5b of Haslam. Ergo, three times
