I was looking at the Strength of Schedule for the top 25 and the average is 42. With the exception of Alabama (3), and Florida State (1) the others appear to have weak schedules. Right?

It's much easier to beat bad teams (with the possible exception of South Carolina).

If we played TN Techs every week, we'd be in the top 5.

part of the reason, as I have said before, is that losing improves the ranking of your opponents. Winning makes your strength of schedule look worse.

An example is Penn State. Looks pretty good on Ohio State's schedule to have played a top 15 team on the road. But, what if they had beaten Penn State. Where is Penn State ranked? Are they ranked?

It's one of the reason's Clemson's schedule actually should get some respect at this point. Beat Auburn. Beat Louisville. Beat FSU. All still ranked.

This is an amazing revelation ... it's easier to beat teams when you are the better team! HOLY CRAP! I need to write a book.

the Strength of Schedule should have a bigger impact on rankings,or so i think anyway ,we all know none is stronger than the SEC,but the other conferences should be held to the same standard when it comes to ranking ,winning a big game or two a year shouldn't be acceptable when considering where they are placed at in a poll

make the Strength of Schedule a bigger part of the equation,a lot bigger

My proposal.
Tn should leave the SEC
go independent

Heres schedule
@ troy
@ idaho
Vs central michigan
Vs buffalo
@ colorado (quality opponent)
@ western carolina
Boise st
Memphis
Alcorn st
Alabama (keep this game)
@ texas tech
Southwest missouri st

We would go 11-1 and be in playoff every year.. Heck this is what many in top 25 schedule looks like

This is no place for logic and reason. Good day to you sir.

Very solid points. Some of the ranked teams, specifically Oklahoma, make me laugh at their placement.

I'd love to see the top of the Sun Belt vs. the top of the Big12. Don't think that would fair too well for the "power 5" teams. Either Okie Light or OU is winning that league. One lost to central Michigan at home and the other got punked by Houston....

There is also no consistency within Top 25 voting for how teams are punished for losing to unranked opponents. I can't believe that Texas A&M only dropped 3 spots in the AP poll after losing to Mississippi State who is now 4-5.

Or sec east!
Worst division in CFB according to Joey Galloway. And a lot of others

Lol. He should check out conference usa with toledo, north texas, marshall and the other weaklings. Interesting point look at quality of coaches in west vs east. Saban, malzahn, sumlin etc are considered higher quality than east. Gonna be hard to keep good coaches @ candy & kentucky. Those are stepstones for better jobs. Spurrier gone. Mizzouris legend retired. Richt gone. Fulmer gone. Meyer gone.
My point the lack of high quality coaches hurts our top 25 status due to high competition with recruiting with west schools

If we went 11-1 with that schedule we probably wouldn't be in the top 10
