According to every talking head, UT has no chance. UF is going to hang a 60+ spot on TN. Most blowhards seem to actually be rooting for Little Urbie to embarrass Kiffin and the Vols. Same clip. Same storyline. Same chatter.

My response--thank you! Keep it up. Keep on chirping. You know the kids from both FL and TN are watching. Let the UF egos inflate, and the chips on the shoulders of every UT player grow.

And to boys from TN, let me quote a song from the Smokey and the Bandit:

"Eastbound and down. Loaded up and truckin'. We're going to do what they say can't be done."

GO VOLS!

PS--yeah, i know it's southbound, but come on, get behind the Vols!

See, that's how I look at it and I hope our players are fired up. I mean absolutely fired up. Everywhere our players look they see Florida players incredibly confident, media folk WANTING and cheering for a blowout. I hope our players show up and kick some butt. The D can for sure, but the O still bothers me. CROMPTON, YOU GOT THIS!

i'm kinda shocked that skip bayless gave us a shot. he said the game will be closer than you think. (he was on sportsnation today)

I'm stating the obvious, but, considering you borrowed it from a bad movie, I'd say "not very original" either.

I am pretty sure everyone outside of UT is hoping for a blowout. It is agitating to say the least. Nothing we can do about it though. Doesn't make a lot of sense that they would make such a huge deal about a 5-7 team last year.

The one good thing about this game is everyone expects us to get blown out so at least our boys can play like they've got nothing to lose.:good!:

Two things:

1. Smokey and the Bandit was a Burt Reynolds movie. Robert Wuhl, a comedian of HBO's "Arliss" fame once said that "Burt Reynolds makes movies so bad that when someone else makes a bad movie, Burt should get a royalty" :)

2. Based on Kiffin's after hire and recruiting comments, it was gator consensus that the Vols had lost any hope of sneaking up on fl via overconfidence. I once thought that was true, but with the media banter of late and our lackluster performance against ucla, we may indeed have a restored element of "they're not in our league" bravado from the gators. If they fail to put the game away early, their self-imposed and media expectations may create some undue pressure for them on both sides of the ball. The ball bounces funny sometimes and are we due for some turnovers to go our way.

Notice the intentional lower case fl and gators and equally intentional capitalized "V" in Vols. :)

I can't wait, but honestly its a given who the better team is. But i have been harping all week to my other football fanatics about how we could go down there and shock the world as a 30pt dog! buuut on the other hand i am a die hard fan and always wish for the best, and of course prepared for the worst:confused:
