I have no issue with this staff “cutting the fat” or making big changes with the players. My one concern is for Ty Chandler. This kid is a baller but may not fit “the system”. If TC gets put out and not used because of CJPs system, does that make him any different than CBJ? A coach who let a lot of talent stand on the side lines. If TC gets sidelined due to system, will it hurt mid state recruiting? IDK and I hope not, but everyone in the mid state knows TC is an absolute talent. We should hope CJP makes it a priority to find a way to utilize this kid. Ty Chandler is special....

Shhhhh. New secret practice techniques Chris Weinke doesn't want the world to see. Kind of like wanting to see the secret hot sauce recipe. Patience, Grasshopper.

Let me help ease your tension. So, how Pruitt prioritized his roster, is he plays the best available player. (Yeah, no duh right?) Not really though. He plays the best available player, that means when a guy gets hurt (let's say a Corner) the 2nd string corner doesn't come in... The best player comes in. So, the best player will play defensively no matter the postion. Obviously you won't put a corner at DT because it has to be in a respective position.

Also, you will see packages with the best rushers on the team in te game (regardless of postion could be a LB, two DE's, and a DT) he will put our players in the best postion to win regardless. This system is two fold... First, you don't handicap yourself in terms of talent and second you don't handicap your players ability.
The offense will be run the same way with respect to the postion.

I get what you're saying.

However, If the starting CB gets hurt. The back up will come in.

Otherwise...according to your logic. The entire defense will have to change to accommodate the "next best player" getting on the field once a starter goes down

Nope, it makes sense if you understand how they learn the defense. The secondary learns principles which are applied to the entire playbook as run through the entire playbook so all of the secondary people know what each postion does so the next best player will replace the player that got hurt. Same with the D-Line or the LB's... And the LB's and Safeties have similar body types so they can switch as can the LB's and DE's that are lighter or heavier.

I’m not being argumentative, I’m just genuinely curious, what are you basing all this on?

WINNING...WINNING...WINNING...

That will have the greatest effect on in-state recruiting....

and it will also separate CJP from CBJ....

Thus him saying CFA has been switchd to defensive back along with bird. they are learning all-around skills of playing db instead of specific such as rcb. i like it

1) Jeremy Pruitt is deferring to Helton for Offense. Helton knows how to use a back like Ty Chandler. No worries there.

We need Fant, London or Banks to become a legitimate 2nd option and short yardage sledge hammer.

Dude. We were the absolute worst team in the SEC last year. The amount of changes needed this season is astronomical. The last thing we should be doing is CREATING problems to worry about. Ty Chandler will be starting this fall barring one of the FR ball out.

Easy turbo. Chandler is the starter at RB. He's a baller and they will let him play ball.
