I guess for you it is... until it isn’t - thank God for the doctors and nurses who are putting their health at risk and were there for me. For me, I followed the guidelines and still got sick from someone who didn’t.

You must really underestimate how stupid the police and local leaders are. The local leaders will push to enforce it and the cops would be dumb enough to not pushback on them... instead, you'll have Vol fans being tased and handcuffed.

I wouldn't defy these orders unless you expect to go all in and all the way, because the leadership and police we have in this country right now will call your bluff.

I'm curious as how you know the infection came from someone not following guidelines

She is an avid mask wearer except here at home. Her contact tracing went back to her high school contacts. Most high schoolers are not wearing masks and one of them tested positive as did the whole family.

So if she is an avid mask wearer, how did she contact it for certain from someone who isn't following guidelines?

Are you saying guidelines (aka, masks) are 100% effective in keeping an infected person from expelling the virus but less than 100% effective in a keeping someone from inhaling the virus?

Masks are not meant to protect the wearer. Masks are meant to keep the wearer from spreading the virus. The person she was traced to had a family member with symptoms and was tested and waiting for results but didn’t isolate or wear a mask as was required. When his test results came back positive, the rest of the family was tested and all were positive. She had contact with one of those family members during that time. When their tests came back positive, my family was tested, though she had already started showing symptoms. 5 days later I was in the emergency room/clot. It happens fast. No other contact that was traced from her was positive. The Tennessee (not Knox County) health department was vigilant in calling every day for 10 days to check on us once we were tested and then came back positive to make sure we isolated.

That's only half true.

Masks do both. Equally well. They protect the wearer, and they protect people the wearer is around. The mask filters both inhalation and exhalation. The better it fits and the finer the weave, the better it does. Not with 100% assurance. Sometimes well below 100%, maybe as low as 50% or even lower. But, however good the mask and however well fit, it definitely works both ways.

We will see. Willing to bet that he won't see a second term. I live in Knox and he was making enemies big and small before Covid and his response since then hasn't exactly rallied the troops.

I live here 6 miles from the stadium and fully support anyone who want to gather to do so however they want. It’s not illegal or dangerous. It’s called freedom
