Ok, Travis Henry had over 1200 yards rushing last season for the Titans. Pretty decent if you ask me. So why is there an ESPN article stating that Lendale White is competing with Chris Henry for the starting RB position. Did I miss something here? Did Travis get traded or released? Keep in mind that he missed some games and still had those yards.

Nice! That blocking up there should pat his stats. Unless they don't have him as the starter.

The great Titans management diidn't think an incredible last part of the season was good enough so they wouldn't pay him, now he's going to beat up the comptetion in Denver.

I'm sorry. I'm laughing so hard at that prediction it's hard to remember what my comment was.

They've had much crappier running backs put up similar numbers in Denver. I'm not sure having Jay Cutler at QB is going to help take the pressure off him, though. Mike Bell will get carries, too. I can pretty much guarantee he'll get 1000 yards if he stays healthy.

Tatum Bell broke 1000 last year.
Reuben Droughns went for 1200 a few years ago.

1600 yards is a pretty tall order, though. I don't even think Clinton Portis ever did that.

Clinton had 1,508 and 1,591 in Denver. The latter total was achieved in a season in which he only played in 13 of 16 games.

...and in a couple of the games that he officially did play, he only had a couple of carries before exiting the game. That was the season that he had the bruised sternum.

putting all that in perspective, in a 16 game schedule, 1000-1200 yards really isn't all that impressive anymore.

...and further putting it into perspective, Travis Henry rushed for 1,211 yards with a 4.5 yrd/carry average in only 14 games last year with the Titans. In one of the 14 games that he played, he only ran the ball 9 times. At Denver, he will have far more carries (assuming he plays all 16 games versus 14 games last year at the Titans, and he will likely see more carries per game with Denver as well) behind a far better offensive line and with far better offensive balance (second year and better quality QB next year in Denver versus first year QB last year at Titans and much better wide receivers at Denver).

I expect nothing less than 1,500 yards from Henry next year unless he misses time due to injuries.

I disagree. Most running backs would be ecstatic if they put up that kind of yardage. In the Broncos system, however, even average backs do really well. That is why people are predicting that a more accomplished back like Henry will really impress next year.

If you're a running back splitting carries in a running-back-by-committee approach, then 1,000 yards (62.5 yards/game) is a good figure. If you're the guy on your team, and you're only averaging 62.5 yards per game, then your team needs to be actively looking for a replacement.

And how many did Olandis Gary have? I mean come on, saying TH will get 1600 isn't as out of line as you make it out to be.

Clinton Portis isn't the Superman you try to make him out to be. If the man gets a hangnail he wants to sit out for three games.
Travis Henry is so valuable, he's now been set adrift by two gutter franchises. Yeah, he's an elite back.

Depends on how many runningbacks Shanahan will run. It's not unlikely at all that you'll see Henry, Mike Bell, and some 5th round draft pick from two years ago run like champs. Different guy every other game.

Yet no comment about how were of your pet players will sit out three weeks for a hangnail?
Teams protect their thoroughbreds. Plow horses like Henry are a dime a dozen. You run them til they drop, then go get another one.
