"No morals top 3"

Serious question, did Petrino do anything other than the whole woman-on-the-side affair? That's pretty scummy, but at the same time I wouldn't consider him a necessarily dangerous hire because of it. Tressel might be the most faithful of NCAA husbands, but he showed a complete lack of institutional control at OSU. That's something I'd be much more worried about in a coaching hire. The odds of Petrino repeating his mistake seem slim in comparison.

The affair itself is of little real consequence (except to the mothers of potential recruits). University administrators and lawyers rightfully have bad feelings about a coach that hired his mistress to a position within the Athletic Dept, exposing the university to all sorts of legal issues. Thus, he's probably out for a while.

But what is the next thing Petrino is going to do? He bailed on Louisville like an ahole leaving them scrambling for a new coach. Then he bailed on Atlanta like an ahole and left them in a lurch. Then he uses ridiculously bad judgement at Arkansas and puts their AD in a bind forcing his firing and leaving the program in a mess. The last 3 places he has been, he's screwed over epicly. He needs to stay as far from Knoxville as possible.

He also "met" (interviewed) with Auburn officials before they had fired Tommy Tubbs. Dude is highly unethical at best. UK should hire him on principle alone; it would make Calipari look squeaky clean.

I believe hiring an unqualified girl in the athletic dept for $50,000.00 dollars that he just happened to be having an affair with may be the worst

Wrong sir, she was hired and signed off legally. Petrino advocating her and then saying he didn't have relations with her was the end.

Don't know if this is limited to football, but if not, you've got to throw John Calipari in the mix. Every school he's coached at has had their records erased for the time he was there.

Also, Kiffin, Orgeron, and Garza (who we can thank for our recent 2-year probation extension) need to be considered. They wouldn't know what morals were if it smacked them in the face.

If we throw morals under the bus, how do you not hire Tressell above all those guys. Petrino may be a slightly better coach, but Tressell is a much better recruiter and ironically for this conversation, a stabilizer.

Tressel can't beat SEC opponents, Petrino can.
