Though he's a fine man and a fine coach I think it's time for Tennessee football to move into another era.

Imagine if we hired Cut and he then hired Fulmer as line coach and assistant head coach.

Oh boy.

And though the defense has shown signs of being able to be really good I don't want to see Chavis either.

Time to move on.

Let's start something NEW.

I'd be willing to put money on the fact that Cutty will get a shot at it. UT will never lose the "family' mentality and if they interview him, he'll probably get it.

I think if they want to sell tickets, they'll get fresh meat.

I'll take the bet. Hamilton is not really a "UT family" man

I don't think anybody will get a shot that has been associated with the "Fulmer Regime". I like Coach Cut, but the program needs to step up where we should be.

The Cut scenario is interesting. First, how do you tell the guy you're not interested. First, he was a good to very good OC for a long time; second, he's got head coaching experience; third, he's noticeably improved one of the worst programs in the country. I'm sure he'd be interested--very interested--and I have think that Fulmer would support him, though that wouldn't hold much weight with me. I think Cut is too old--I want somebody younger--but I wouldn't want to be Hammy and tell him, 'Thanks but no thanks." As for selling tickets: winning sells tickets, and winning is the key to recruiting. How you win isn't of much consequence.

I have no problems with Chavis. He's a great lb coach and a good DC. But I would be fine with a new coach bringing in their own assistants as well.

I agree. But considering it will be a "lesson learned" by the hiring of Clawson. They went outside of the "family" to hire him and he proved to be a failure.

IMO Clawson was only hired to be Fulmer's scapegoat at the end of this season anyway.

Depends on his deal at Duke. With Fulmer gone and the O in his complete control.....if the money is right and the offer is given, I say yes.

Why would Cut want it? With the exception of money, there isn't a really good reason for him to come back. They love him already at Duke. He can continue to make steady improvements in their team for the next few years and they'll worship him.

What happens if he comes back to UT? We expect him to win 10 the first season. If he loses to two out of the Fla, GA, Bama, three there will be calls for his head on a platter.

No, I think Cut stays at Duke...although I have been wrong before.

Cutty brings top level knowledge and ability in recruiting and offense. He'd take it and leave Chavis DC/AHC. That would be the fast track to getting the program back to the top.

NO CUTT...LOL

Coached and made the most out of Peyton and ELI!!! They have rings! Already turning Duke around and fast. He has a good record in my eyes.

3 Good Reasons- Money. Prestige. Roots in Knoxville.

Well, I said with the exception of money...

But on the other two points...Prestige is only good if you win. And there is no guarantee he will at UT. He already is at Duke.

And I'm not sure the Roots are enough to bring him back. But, like I said before, I could be wrong. Either way, I hope Chavis goes. I have never been a fan. It has always been my opinion that when the D is good, it is in spite of him, not because.

Johnny Majors said last week Chavis has saved Fulmer's job for the past 10 years.

lol, I had to include money anyway, because you can't ignore it. This job pays a ridiculous amount of money.

When that smell gets in a house only one remedy will do, burn it to the ground and plow it under. Lay a new foundation and rebuild. This is where we are if you ask me.
