No conference title in 9 years ... coach gets extension

you only say that cause you posted it even though it had nothing to do with UT. Personally, the political posts were more interesting.

It does very much so have to do with UT. I was drawing in a comparison that the fan base's attitude toward the coach and the program are very similar to Clemson. Both teams are met with high expectations from the fan base only to be disappointed with 3 and 4 loss seasons. there are talent at both schools met with disappointing losses. The AD at both schools have unwavering support to their head coach. With no clear cut time line for a championship to be won, they continue to support these guys. There is growing discontent from the boosters and fans.

Sincerely On topic guy :)

then you might want to try and make it in any of your posts instead of just quoting TB's & Clemson stats

I thought the title in the thread (9 years without a conf title with the same coach) will be enough common sense to draw that conclusion and comparison to our program. Next time I will add a picture by the words for you. Unless you want a pop-up book.

Back to the thread subject. It's absolutely unthinkable for any AD propose a raise or contract extension prior to the season's end. Of course, the seasons end for UT EVERY year should be after a Bowl.

The only exception to that rule in my opinion is if some other school is seriously after your Coach. To the best of my knowledge and I'm pretty certain about this, no one & I mean no one is even considering CPF.

But to CPF's credit he's been fortunate enough to have sucker AD's that pay him win or lose (Bowl Games) we all need bosses like that.

all the coaches before pete caroll had the same advantage, he's the one that cashed in. plus his national recruiting is pretty good too. two of his offensive play makers are out of state. Patrick Turner and JDBooty. i'm sure there are others too...but those two just popped in to the old noggen.

John David Booty even graduated high school a full year early to play for him

...because no coach would ever use a lack of extension for negative recruiting.
