Before season we were probably anticipating playing with Uros.
Well that screwed our rotation.
Kent left.. might’ve changed our depth/ scout team.
Turner leaves the team. Big big hurt!
We literally have 8 players on our team.. Also, we have 1 player who was never meant to be a starter.
I would guess that it takes 4-5 games in to figure out rotation/roles.
We lack depth/ identity/ experience/ team chemistry .
By end of January, we will be just getting back in groove

Ha. This team really cant shoot from the perimeter and has no one reliable down low. Bad combo.

This season is screwed.
I said the very same thing after the last game. If you cannot shoot from outside and your big men cannot score down low, then all that is left is dribble drive. Unfortunately we really don't have the dribble drive game either.

What happen to us? We started off so hot this year. Hitting everything. Then we went ice cold. Will Vescovi get to play soon?

At least 4 of those 5 were. Not sure about Daniel.

How many of those 5 are getting minutes though? That’s my point. Too many recruiting misses.

Daniel and Darrington came in together iirc.

Missing on some guys is different from taking the year off. Plus Bone and Grant leaving early weren't in the plan. Neither was Turner having a bad shoulder. Kent might have been a bad addition but at 6'11 with a nice shot and good ball handling skills, it's not a bad try. Burns and/or Walker could have been contributors. Exactly what happened with them hasn't been spelled out publicly. According to some VN posters, the wacky tobacky was too much of a temptation. Attrition happens.

Injuries happen for sure. We can’t blame anyone for those. I’m just using “taking the year off” synonymously with recruiting misses. We just can’t discount the misses on Kent, Burns, and Walker though. We’re paying for those now.

We’ll be OK. Thanks goodness the next class has already signed and we have a PG on campus now.

Kent, Burns, and Walker could have all been serious contributors. You just don't know with certainty whether kids are at their peak or have tremendous upside. Kent had injuries. Burns was too young. I don't know what happened with Walker... he appeared to have huge potential as a freshman. Kasongo and McGhee quiting also didn't help matters. TN might have put less emphasis on adding post players with those bigs on the rosters and recruiting is a multi-year effort. It can't be all that easy in that time frame to find replacements with that much size when so many exit one after another.

If both of our international players were to be cleared in January the makeup of the team will be completely different and certainly add a huge spark to the season.

Bowden is a head case. I love him and he has all the talent in the world, but his mind won' allow it. In his head, he's forever a sixth man. We need an alpha dog. Hopefully, that's Vescovi.

He took 2018 off. He got one player and left an open scholly all year.

We’re now paying for 2 recruiting classes that were nearly all misses. Can’t take 2 years off in recruiting.

The good news is our freshman class has loads of potential and the next class should impact the game quickly.

Doesn't seem like a fair statement to me. Two juniors left early for the pros, two transferred and one left for reasons unknown plus one had a season ending injury. Just a lot of bad luck all in one season IMO. Despite these setbacks I think Vescovi will play this year and the team will improve significantly by February. Might not make the NCAA's but I believe they will have a winning record and make the NIT which would be a good consolation prize given all the adversity this year. GBO!

This rebuilding year is an opportunity to build depth for the future. Barnes should play every available player wearing a Tennessee jersey, walk-ons included. And I mean give them all serious minutes. Starting yesterday.
