Hart (and the rest of VolNation) got very lucky that Gundy & Strong turned down the job.

I admit I was not excited about the hire - in 7 months Butch has proven he deserves the job and WANTS to be here - can't remember last time I was this excited about Tennessee football.

^ This...100% agree...:hi:

I wanted Strong because I thought he could recruit better(As Bob Ucker would say...Just a bit outside!).

In the end, I think Strong was too much of a Gator to accept the job, so he did us a favor. Probably didn't have the will to rebuild either.

So did everyone else. Virtually no one was praising the CBJ hire when it happened. Give credit where it's due, Hart seems to have made a good choice.

the verdict is still out harts job was to hire a coach to win championships. is cbj that guy we dont know yet n hart is a pompas a$$ at best.

when cbj wins the sec then i will say hart knew what he as doing until then we cant say..

No. He wanted Mike Gundy.

Not everyone else. I don't like Gundy or Strong. I did, and do, like Larry Fedora and Butch Davis. Been to several clinics where they have spoken.

However, I am ecstatic with Butch Jones and have been since Dave Hart introduced him. Charisma and energy and he REALLY, REALLY wanted the job. Hart does deserve some credit, it was a good list...he just had the wrong guy on top of it. Thankfully, it sorted itself out.
