I've been to tons of games, both home and away, and this is the first that I can recall where we brought NO band at all.

It was very odd and just added to the weird overall experience.

They didn't have the funds for traveling is why neither was there. What a shame too..

Yeah. I remember watching UT footballl as a kid (80s and 90s) and there was always at least a pep band even when we were playing on the west coast. A couple of years ago they cut the pep band out. It's weird to watch on TV too after we score a TD. I am expecting to hear The Pride (or at least a pep band) playing Rocky Top as the broadcast cuts away to a commercial. I do think the AD should at least fund a small pep band for each road game.

That's sorry as hell. Given all the revenue being generated by the AD, we should have the pep band on every road trip and the full travel band on close road trips (less than 5 hour drives)

There plenty of empty seats available so tickets couldn't be an issue.

Seems like the past 3 or 4 years we've not taken any band at all to at least one game each season.

Yeah, I was ticked when we got into the stadium last night. I kept looking around for our band, I couldn't believe it.

Good for you. I do because having a band playing your own fight songs when you score and win does make a difference for a traveling fan's experience.

Of the several away game victories I have attended, I have never once regaled friends with stories of the band.

I believe every SEC team we played at home this year had some kind of musical group. Wonder where they get the funds?

Unfortunately it's a money thing. The band members would have been more than happy to go, but with the length of the trip they would have had to either fly or spend 2 nights in hotels. This year the entire band made trips to Florida and Bama so the AD wasn't going to put up the money for a trip to Mizzou.

The AD reserves ($$$).

Unfortunately Mike Hamilton completely drained ours.

I'd say they have thrown more money away on a field that looks awful than travel costs for a band the past few seasons.

Someone needs to take a good hard look at Dave Hart and the job he is doing in the off season. Goes well beyond just the football program or an insatiable need to see people fired.

The guy has been at the head of one embarrassing incident after another.

Yeah like getting us out of the red and building our reserve, hiring a HOF basketball coach, signing us to Nike to bring in a boat load of money.
