No academic casualties expected for the bowl game

This is a big improvement from the past.
It is, but also remember it probably seems to happen less now because we aren't in bowl games all that often

Didn't Phil, especially in his last few years, routinely have a handful of guys miss bowls due to academics?

Yes and rape accusations and other various issues. Remember he was coach for a long time.

Mmmmk so I'm not understanding how us not having been to a bowl in 3 years has anything to do with none of the players being academically ineligible. I mean why would that change in the future? Wouldn't there be at the very least one player out if this were to be a potential issue?

I'm saying that if there's no bowl game to play in, then there isn't really any way for us to know if they are academically ineligible. There's no announcement of "so and so is missing the bowl game" if there's no bowl game to play in.

I fully understood that, my point is this shouldn't be anything to be all that surprised about. Even if there was one or two guys sitting out because of bad grades that shouldn't be too concerning seeing as there are close to 100 guys on the team.

Auburn had an original solution to this problem back in the 80's.

Unless you were graduating in December, grades weren't issued until January 2
