Lohse... v. Halladay

Cardinals took 6 of 9 during the regular season.

Not much more fun than watching a locked in Halladay/Lee/Hamels face a locked in Pujols.

Game 1 underway.

Lance Berkman 3 run shot in the first after Halladay walked Albert. Huge for St. Louie.

Berkman is really starting to piss me off. Pretty much disown him as an Astro at this point. Kind of hope the team doesn't retire his number

Because he volunteered to play for a rival team and is helping them win.

Plus he got fat lazy towards the end of his time with the Astros. Basically stole a paycheck

True. After all that and his stint with the yankees, nobody saw this killer b's rejuvenation coming

Yeah, I know how bitter I sound but I really don't like the Cardinals lol

I'm just glad I wasn't one of the fans that were claiming he's better than Bagwell. There were a lot of fans who actually liked Berkman more than Bagwell. smh

As just an outsider not a fan of them, I loved the Astros during those peak years with the killer b's. I was one of the ones who was pretty certain Berkman had died. Even when he started hot, I would have bet on him disappearing again before the season he had.

Haha

Yeah, those were the days. Guys like Ken Caminiti, Derek Bell, Moises Alou, Shane Reynolds, Mike Hampton. Good times

Definitely pulling for the Phillies with Roy Oswalt and Hunter Pence. Roy O will probably always be my fav pitcher. At least those guys didn't ask to go to the Phillies. I know Berkman didn't ask to be traded either but he chose to go to the Cardinals. I would still like him if he chose anyone but the Cubs or Cardinals. He just had to choose one of the two teams I can't stand :(

I figured he might hit 15-20 dingers and bat around .250. Talk about a pleasant surprise. I don't know if he needed a change of scenery or what, but he hasn't been the same player as he was the last few years in HOU and NY.

Nothing personal UTC lol. You've always been pretty cool

I live smack dab in the middle of Cardinal and Cub country living in Iowa. 90% of the people here are a fan of one or the other. Then you add in being Astros fan... between playing in the same division and the fans it's hard to bare. Would be like being a Tennessee fan in Alabama

Oh, I know what it's like. I grew up in Orlando during the 90s and early 00s. Caught a s***load of flak for being a UT fan.

And Ibanez adds a 2 run homer. Lohse looks like garbage after a great first 5.

EDIT: And TLR with the hook. Probably too late.

Doc has set down 18 straight since a leadoff hit in the 2nd inning. Cards can't touch him at this point.

Well, I was gonna say it is good they got him early. But Kyle Lohse took care of that with a 78 mph titty-high change up to Howard.

I just felt like with the energy in that at bat, even Lohse was like "Crap, he's gonna hit a home run."

Gigantic win. That was a must win for the Cards, I think.

win 2 at home, por favor.

I didn't get to see it, but this was a huge win. Surprising, too, to be honest. This team has fight.

There just seems to be something about that uniform that makes people play better! Great pick up in the off season and great win tonight.

Cards are giving the heavy favorites all they can give. Regardless of what happens, I'm proud of the Cards. Theyve fought through a lot this season.

Garcia vs. Hamels tomorrow. Jaime's been outstanding vs. the Phillies so far in his career.

I swear baseball is going to be the death of me.

At least with football I have 5 days to recover.
