Nightmare becoming a Reality

I may sound stupid for saying this....but I am going to say it anyway.

I think out of JC, NS, and BJC...I think Crompton could be ok.....if.....

The CLK offense allows him to scramble when he needs to as opposed to forcing him to stay in the pocket and throw it down field every play. I think he actually looked ok, when he could check the WR he wanted, then run.

I know this is probably not what we want...but I think this is when JC would be at his best, when he can run

The slate is clean, we will see if JC can take advantage of that. Ainge 06'?

LK must realize regardless of how good crompton looks in "practice", he will fail come gameday - based on the 08 season. IMO i dont even think he will be considered for the starting job. JC needs a major engine rebuild, not an oil change. And what a waste for senior potential. Bring in a fresh LK recruit and build an offense around him. GO VOLS !

Kiffin will base that off of what he knows now and 6 months form now. A fresh recruit is just that, he does not know much about them either til they get here.

Is Petty enrolling in January? If so, I think he is the dark horse.

I read somewhere that he has a cannon for an arm...just saying.

Its not like we got a stable of studs at QB. Going by the way Crompton played against UK could be a bright spot. A JV qb in the sec is no way to approach things and NS did not show any progress at all.

Do me a favor and send in your resume to CLK. You need to get a job in recruiting since you "think" bj doesnt have a strong arm. I'm glad you've seen him throw so many deep balls......

lol why are Chattanooga people so defensive on BJ. He can throw it deep but he has not zip on anything he throws so he floats alot of balls

I'm not judging 8 passes i'm judging a JV game, a couple orange and white games and waching film from high school and watching a couple of his games in HS

Half the people here were screaming for Boyd based on nothing but his high school performance. What's the difference?

Frankly I don't care who he puts out there, as long as they can step it up. I'm okay with JC starting, cause I don't think it'll take Kiffin more than a quarter (if that) to replace him if necessary.

Not sure where you read that.

"But he’s not a classic drop back passer who can stretch a defense his arm strength. Former Vol QB A.J. Suggs is a closer match in terms of style than Heath Shuler, Peyton Manning, Casey Clausen or Eric Ainge. Petty’s arm strength probably falls in a range between Suggs and Clausen."

Scout.com: Vols Land Texas QB

I, personally, just don't see Petty having the tools that CLK is looking for.

Edit:
Oh, and he runs a spread offense and has never really QBed under center. he's always been a shotgun QB. Again, I don't see him fitting what CLK needs out of a QB
