Ok I know this is bad to say but I think most of everyone's Nightmare is going to become a reality. From the recent news of Kiffin saying that he has no use for recruit T. Boyd, and the unlikelyhood of us actually stealing away Matt Barkley or Aaron Murray, I believe we are going to see one of four possible qb's starting for us next year: J. Crompton, Nick Stephens, B.J. Coleman, or possible recruit Bryce Petty. My question for everyone is who out of those 4 QB's do you think deserves or atleast is the best option for us to start at QB?

Whoever wins in the spring and then holds off the freshman competition in the Fall

I guess B.J. Coleman would be who I'd like to see, but he'd need drastic improvements. Crompton and Stephens just never showed much promise and although Coleman's only touchdown was a pick six, I think arm strength could make him much better.
I just don't want Crompton and I don't see him being able to learn ANOTHER system again this offseason.

I think it is real tough to say right now. I think Coleman has the most potential, but whether he begins to reach it in time to start next year, I don't know. I think Kiffin would make any of them into considerably better QB's than what we saw last year.

I'm not sure when he ever learned a first system :search:

Nightmare is way too strong a word. Start with Stephens or Coleman teach them to actually look DBs off and stop staring their receivers down, give them a little time to throw, tell the offensive lineman to block or sit, and let the running game get back on its feet and UT will be fine with good coaching.

We will have a serviceable QB by the time the ball is snapped next fall.

I'm trusting Kiffin on on this one. You don't tell Boyd that he won't really fit, unless you have someone that you know will.

It might be a QB on the roster or some two star you've never heard of, but I believe the man will get it done.

I believe CLK is a much better at guaging talent for his system then people on here think they know what is best for us. The recruiting season is not over, if we get another QB or not I am fine with it. Who ever wins the starting position will have done so based on performance to CLK's standard, which is assuring to me.

I don't understand how Crompton looked so good in practice and struggled so much in games. I trust CLK will do the right thing.

The QBs we have would have looked much better with proper coaching not saying world changers but there is no doubt the system let them down last year. One if them my bets are on Coleman will stand up and have a decent season.

Surely out of the three that played this year one of them can get it together enough to be functional. New coaches = new attitude and development, hopefully.

Crompton has the most talent but obviously can't handle pressure, so Coleman
Well no offense, but would anybody be able to handle the pressure all of our QBs saw this year with the horrible offensive line play we had? Crompton will be fine with some good coaching, I think that like was said earlier in this thread, Kiffin will pick who he thinks fits his system best, I mean really If he thinks Stephens or Coleman or even Crompton is best that's who he will go with but I think alot of our problems, like I've said before, were due to horrible play calling and Clawson not knowing how to be both an OC and QB coach...JMO

Even a top notch Fr. Qb will set us back a couple of years til he is ready. Kiffin sees what he has and thinks for next year a Fr. may not play anyway. Throw that scholly at a DT this year, get a Qb next year.
