Has anyone heard that CLK had jackets made with NFL VOLS on them and sent to every Vol that is playing in the league?
If this is correct it just further illustrates our new staff's incredible attention to detail.

I think there is an underlying message there.

I think he did it to reach out to the former players again, but is also sending the message to the current players and recruits that UT is going to be a NFL factory in the coming years.

i also think he wants to create a type of fraternity for former UT players. this is just one way of tying all the guys that make it to the NFL back to UT. it gives the current players something else to shoot for....because making it to the NFL from Tennessee means something....or, at least it should, and that's what he's trying to create.

It's good business as well. As asinine as it seems, he wants every UT player in a prime time NFL game to say "University of Tennessee".

It's free publicity.

Can't remember exactly who it was, but I remember a couple of players that came out early actually use their high school name instead of UT in their intros.

Hopefully he had the foresight to license the use of "NFL" so he doesn't get the university sued. The NFL is ultra aggressive in defending its trademarks.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure several UT players were a bit ashamed, especially 2005 and on.

It is "funny" for them to say it. Pretty sure I've heard some Middle Schools in there somewhere.

yeah, but i think kiffin wants to creat a culture among the foot ball alum similar to that of "the U"....those guys are proud as hell they palyed there, and they all recognize that coming from Miami means something. same could be said for "THE Ohio State University" guys as well.

it's just another way to get your name out there, and the guys in the NFL and future NFl guys are some of the bests spokesmen to do that for you if you are trying to get guys of that ilk to come to your shool in droves.

Since Stallworth won't need his I'll take it. I kid I kid. Seriously though why did he have them printed up on such butt ugly jackets?
