That's his biggest problem. Also I can blame the secondary coach for that.
I was speaking with a buddy of mine and we were discussing our safeties. I said if Saban was coaching Morley and Berry we would be the best defensive team in America. He would have Morley so in tune wih the game that Berry would be free to roam. He's done more with two walk-ons than our coaches have done with two five stars. Our coaches just put them out there and tells them to go make plays.
I am not going to make any claims that Slade is some great secondary coach. But here we go again blaiming him for Morley's struggles. Slade is coaching Berry right, or am I mistaken? Much more of their ability to perform on Saturday comes from their ability to learn and adapt that learning at game speed. Morley just does not have it between the ears to learn it. He also lacks the intincts, which cannot be taught. I would bet good money that even if Saban was Morley's coach he would still have the same faults.
Saban has made Justin Woodall into a serviceable player. And frankly anybody could be coaching Berry and he would be successful. Its not hard to coach the great players.
Arian draft status has certainly dropped this season. But he has not fallen to the point that he will not get drafted. You have to remember that NFL scouts (whether we agree or not) think much more of Arian Foster than the typical Vols fan.
So now we are using the word servicable? Well, Morley is already a "servicable" player. The point was that Berry is being taught the same things that Morleys is about lining up properly and being where you are suppose to be at certain times. Berry takes that coaching and he is where he is suppose to be. Morley is not, even though he is being instructed exactly the same as Berry.

Not that hard to tell them where to line up. Morley's play is enigmatic not serviceable. Woodall doesn't really have pro potential but Saban has him playing at a higher level than Morley. They're secondary is playing as good as ours with less athletes. That's coaching. You can't tell me Justin Woodall is a better athlete than Demtrice Morley.

That is exactly what I am talking about. The only thing you keep addressing is athletic ability. As if that is the only thing that matters. Woodall does not have to be a better athlete to be a better safety than Morley. He has to have a much better mental grasp of what is going on and better instincts. That is not the coaches fault that Morley does not have that.
Then you go and claim that Alabama has a better secondary even though all the evidence points otherwise. Then your reasoning is because "they make plays." Ok, yeah, that makes sense.
