Anyone think the Titans at 19th, could get Meachem for a steal. I just don't see him being around by 19, but it could happen. And who better, to be catching the ball for B@D @zz Young, than Robert Meachem. Ive seen mock drafts saying Titans get Meachem, i would love to see that. Meachem is already loved by TN, it would be a perfect fit. Titans definetly need a WR, and i believe Johnson, Jarrett, and Holmes will all be drafted before Meachem.
But with a legit 4.3 forty, im thinking there is no way Titans get him at 19th.

---I have also heard Sears will go ahead of Meachem. I believe Meachem goes first.

Ben Grubbs, guard from Auburn will go before Sears. Common sense dictates that WRs go before guards, look at past drafts.

Meachem is likely going to be the 3rd or 4th WR drafted.
Johnson and Ginn are ahead of Meachem and Dwayne Bowe is neck and neck with him. Jarrett ran a 4.6 forty at his pro day, hurting his stock.

There is not a WR with the last name of Holmes in the draft.

Do you watch TV?

I was wondering what Holmes he was talking about too?

I do think there is a shot of the Titans getting Meach

I have seen one guy say Harrell could go before Meach because of need not talent, but there is a 100% chance Meach goes before Sears.

Does Ginn seem a little overrated to anyone else?
I think he will make an instant impact at kick and punt returns but I could see him end up like Dante Hall for the Chiefs. I'm just not sold yet on him at wr.

The only thing I could make out of it is he's calling Ginn Santonio Holmes, a Buckeye that was drafted last year by the Steelers.

Harrell will go to either the Bears or the Colts in the bottom of the 1st round IMO. Meachem will be gone long before that.

Ginn could either be Steve Smith of the Panthers or a Desmond Howard hard to tell.

The Titans are hard to predict this year. They might go with that corner out of Pitt if he is still there at 19. They are talking here in Nashville about bringing Justin McCareins back from the Jets which should help a little at WR but I would prefer to see them get Meachem. I guess Sidney Rice has dropped a lot because he is not mentioned in the 1st round anymore.

Titans = Reggie Nelson  That way they can get rid of Lamont Thompson.

No offense to Meachem, but good WRs can be had in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, like Craig Davis (LSU), Jason Hill (WSU), Anthony Gonzalez (OSU), or Steve Smith (USC)

I think the need at WR is too great to ignore for the Titans. That being said, I expect to see the first round money wind up being spent on another RB. Titans have need everywhere, they would honestly be better served moving down and getting some more picks...

Yeah, but by the time they pick Peterson and Lynch will be gone off the board and there is no other TBs worthy of first round picks.

Meachem won't be a steal at pick 19. He's projected to go in the 20s. If the Titans want him at 19, they'll be able to get him.

Yeah, like I said, I really think they could move down and do themselves the greatest benefit..

other things...

I believe Jerry Jones covets Meachem. Things fall right look for him to follow in Alvin's footsteps..

Got a feeling Arron lands in Miami or Tampa...

If I were in the Titans draft room, well I'd prolly be fired in no time, but the top of my wish list would be Gaines Adams, Omobe Okoye, or LaRon Landry...

can't wait for draft day. absolutely love it.

If we are saying a wish list for the Titans I would want Peterson from Oklahoma and Johnson from Tech. Obviously they will get neither but after losing Henry, rb and wr are the two biggest needs IMO. They have to surround Young with better talent!!

Sure on AP and Calvin. But so many players are being bandied about as first 15 worthy that something great is bound to drop to the bottom third. Guess I was thinking maybe just maybe one of my three might slip down. Your two, no way...

Agree. But Fisher and staff have a way of coaching late second/third rounders into really great contributors. They can build a WR if he's got the skill set.. And there is really good talent in the middle at RB. The Arizona kid, Henry.... and I like the Nebraska guy whose name escapes me right now...

Harrell is the only Vol who could jump ahead of Meachem, and that would only happen if Meachem falls to the last 6 or 7 picks of the 1st round, which is possible.

There is not a chance that Harrell falls past Indianapolis.

Meachem could end up at Tennessee, San Diego, Dallas, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Chicago.

I'm with you on that, the Titans are picking in the spots where there are some many "what ifs" that it will be interesting to see how it plays out. The NFL Draft is one of my favorite events if not my favorite,

Just a personel thing I hope Meach doesn't go to the Chiefs. San Diego and Philly might be the best places for him.

all i know is he should be drafted in front of Tedd Ginn. gonzalez was the best receiver on the team the last year and he's projected to go where? 3rd round?

Gonzalez is a early 2nd rounder by most mocks.

Ginn is an overrated WR.

I agree about him being overrated as a WR

BUT this is why Ginn will go before Meachem in the draft.
What about return man? The impact Devin Hester has had will make teams jump all over Ginn. Meachem is a better receiver, but Ginn has what is in style now. Wait and see, Ginn will go before Meachem.

GMs love to outsmart themselves

Yes, Ginn is a very very very special return man and could be a solid contributor in the slot, and he has the natural talent (speed, vert, agility) that GMs love. However, to pump TVA's ego, he is not the most talented football player.

:lolabove: I see you got my point. I laugh when teams draft guys that just do not fit into the scheme they are building

Name one return man who has had more than one great season. . .

I'd rather had the better WR.

I know me too. But Ginn will get drafted because coaches believe they'll make him a legitimate WR and not just a return man.

Steve Smith of Carolina was drafted in the 3rd round because of his return abilities and he blossomed. For every guy like him though there's the R. Jay Sowards, Freddie Mitchells and Desmond Howards of the football world.

Teams do it all the time.

I still don't understand why team's aren't scouting Ginn as a corner. I think he has better NFL potential as a cover cb than a wide receiver.
