Todd McShay Show reports that McCoy’s agent has become a bit of a “pain.”

“I do want to make this point, and it’s not just because Jermod McCoy hasn’t worked out. We’ll see how he works out at Tennessee’s Pro Day, assuming he does.” He continued, “My gosh, people in the league are so fed up with his agent. And it’s none of my business, but it’s the same thing I said to Shemar Stewart last year: They work for you. I’m not gonna mention names, but his agent is one of the best in the business at representing players. And is a total pain in the ass, and people in the league hate him because he’s a pain in the ass and does a good job by his clients for the most part. But there are some things that occur during the process that I don’t think send a favorable message.”

Unless he runs every drill at pro day with acceptable metrics, Hood will be picked before him. I’m definitely pulling for the kid and he’s clearly talented, but agents man. Don’t ever forget the screw job Heath Shuler’s agent put on him. Advising him to hold out in preseason and putting his transition way behind. I saw Shuler’s last play as a Washington Redskin in person at RFK, and I’ve never heard booing so loud for a player. Totally avoidable. Tom Condon ruined him. I hope McCoy can see the issues before it’s too late.

Surprise surprise. It’s been over a year now…
Eddie Jackson had the same injury- had it LATER in the year, and still came back to play that season. And was drafted.

This dude was cleared to play like 5 months ago and he still hasn’t shown anyone that he’s healed.

He has given no sign that his injuries habe healed
Thats correct and his agent is telling him it is better to use your "body of work" than to audition and risk a bad showing. Get your contract booked and do your auditioning on the practice field. Same principle he used for not playing half a season for UT in 2026. The agent is thinking bird in hand.

I said it from the start, not playing an entire year it wasn’t going to be a slam dunk being a first rounder. They understand being hurt, but they also want folks that want to play the game not milk the situation. I don’t know if he and his agent are milking or not, but time will tell what teams think.

31st. Really goes without saying but if he doesn't participate he won't be a 1st round guy
Has there been any word that he may not participate but agreed that seems like that would be a deal breaker, still if I was spending the money I'd like to see some work after the surgery.

No one hates on their own players like TN fans.
There's a difference between hating on, say, a new recruit or former player who gave their all, as opposed to a former player who was 1.) cleared to play, but 2.) elected for personal reasons not to play, who 3.) only played one season prior, and 4.) refuses to demonstrate their skills to prospecting franchises the same way they eventually refused participation on their previous team.

It's not the same at all and in this instance-- it's not hate, it's measured observation(s)
