That's a shame. Historic sites, especially on/near campus, should be preserved.

Hey, there is a big bronze statue of the guy at the stadium. It was a house--one of many he lived in (rented) over the years. It has no significance so let it go and build something to replace that eyesore. He's still got a pretty nice building with his name all over it! His son probably never even saw it.
