It's really pretty. Kinda like playing football inside the Mall Of America.

It's much needed. The perception of Neyland Stadium from other SEC fans is severely lacking. From the erector set look on the exterior, to the 6 inch seats, to the concourse from the 30s, it is quite embarrassing. The gameday experience outside of the sheer size (which hasn't even been full lately) is in the lower half of the league. I do give Hammy credit here.

I think there is supposed to be a small power T going up above it. I am still wondering what all is going on around the base of the amphitheatre (which they are beginning to fill up with dirt). I know they are doing the radio show there, but there are all these walls and a big pedestal. Neyland's statue isn't going there, so I am still trying to figure it all out.

I hate to be negative about the Neyland renovations because on the whole I think they're great.....but I really don't like the front facade and press box. It reminds me of all the urban renewal projects that went up in towns all across the south during the 60's; a lot of shiny metal facades. To me it clashes with the traditional brick work that is being installed throughout the stadium.

It has a very, very long way to go before it reaches that point. Right now we need to get it to respectability level.

I think it's respectable. I mean they are working on it right? That stuff takes time and a ton of money. But this thing is going to continue to be a great place to watch football. BTW is this the final stage of the restoration? I feel like I heard they were going to start the next phase in two years or something.

It's easily in the bottom half of the league as of last season. Visiting team's fans are not impressed at all by it other than sheer size. As I said, I do give credit to Hammy for doing something about it. Other than BDS, I believe it will be the class of the league by the end of renovations.

MH said that they will begin renovation Gate 10's side either between '11-'12 or the '12-'13 season, depending on how much money has been raised.

Ridiculous statement. The gameday experience is arguably the best in the country.
