I've watched this 3 times. I cannot wait to be back there on September 2nd!!
I agree!!!

I told myself I would be more measured this time. I told myself I wouldn’t get sucked back in only to have my heart broken………

But boy am I pumped! The closer we get to kickoff the more excited I get.

Shame the renovations weren’t completed for the 💯 season.
Hopefully, they at least paint the rusty places before the season begins.

For the many VOL fans near and far across the state of Tennessee who have never and will never set foot on the campus of UT Knoxville let alone in the confines of Neyland on a Saturday afternoon, John Ward IS/Was The University of Tennessee. Through his voice and descriptions of UT and east Tenn. many understood what it was to be a Tennessee Volunteer.

Sept. 2 leaving work at 11:30. Taking I24 to Manchester Exit 111, cruising through McMinnville on our way to the 1st Sparta exit. Driving through downtown on Highway 70 and up the mountain to Crossville before getting on I40. Roughly 50 miles to Campbell Station Road exit (Farragut). Instead of staying in the Market Place area (Cedar Bluff) like we normally do , reserved a room at The Graduate on 17th and Cumberland. Immediate indulging will begin. Tough decision on which UT polo to wear. Short walk to see the Pride play to The Hill and back to the hotel for more pre-game "refreshments." Damn, can't wait..............I expect Knoxville and Neyland to be rocking and rolling.

Nice, but too many clips with the overall insignificant gray uniforms!

Sadly, that was the last time fans were really packing the stadium. Between the Vols' wretched performance over the years and COVID, Neyland just ain't what it used to be.

I'm not trying to find away to be critical here; I'm just being honest. The folks who remember what it was like when UT was a powerhouse also know that it just isn't the same now. But, I loved watching the video---great memories.

I recall in my youth, with few games on TV, the neighbor up the hill had better radio reception. When the Vols would score, he would go onto his porch and holler for all to hear: "Go Vols. Bobby Scott to Chip Howard! Touchdown! Vols up 21-17" or words to that effect. Loved those days.

I’ve been in stadiums with broader walking paths and concession areas which do not choke off passage ways with crowds of queuing humans, but the history, the experience witnessing a game with tens of thousands of fellow fans makes Neyland special for me.

....not to mention bathtub urinals....

Then let’s change it. Come to the stadium and be loud, we can all do a small part to make Neyland the way it should be
