Key 100% can not come back for another year. Uros, Santi, Olivier, and Josiah have a COVID year available but there’s been nothing to indicate that any will use it. So 2 spots seem to be open and Julian Philips could create a third.

IMO, I think Edwards is probably going to hit the transfer portal.

I think we are going to recruit over him, I could be wrong.

Portal Needs PG and SG if we can't make it with these bigs we gave schollys to the wrong guys.

As I see it, we need two ready-to-play PGs come tournament time next year. Overall, we need to add 20-30 points to our roster by Aug. 31. Work the portal hard, leverage NIL and bring in some scorers. I also believe Coach Barnes needs to build his coaching strategy/system around his players’ individual skills and strengths rather than forcing them to fit his existing scheme.

Preparation for next March begins right now; coaching for next year’s tourney begins this August, as I see it.

I fervently hope that this is a summer of deep reflection for Coach Barnes. And that he becomes open to changing his approach to building a championship roster that’s ready for next March.

His approach thus far has been good but not good enough for the post-season…at least for those of us starved for banner-hanging success.

And please, a portal Big that can average 12 - 15 pts a game, rebound his spot, and create his own shot when necessary. Sure could have used that this year.

Are we just speculating that Edwards is leaving or is that actually rumored? Imo he'd be a fool to leave looking at the depth chart moving forward. Put in the work, get coached, earn your time and you'll play on a top caliber SEC team.
