Next Day: After having time to reflect

I have no answers. But i know cupcakes aren't scheduled just to fill in gaps on the schedule. The warm ups are meant to be glorified scrimmages.

Timing issues, procedural penalties, alignment and squad personnel issues, substitution mistakes are expected as both coaches and players knock off the rust. But no enthusiasm for the game? Trotting out teams who are unprepared?

Coaching is the problem. You saw it with zook, muschamp, and Mcelwain. We see it with Dools, butch, and pruitt.

We have serious issues in our program.

For some reason, this disaster has been looming for a long time....I can't quite place it, but I am not 'blown-away' shocked right now. Have felt this for a while that something program-shocking was going to happen. Now that it has, those in power have to do something, and the next few weeks are going to be crucial...if there is any administrator or booster for the school that is not 100% embarrassed, shocked, humiliated and humbled then they need to be the first to pack their bags. Administrators, AD staff, football coaches, auxiliary and support staff all need to wake up and look in the mirror and understand that each of them have a requirement to be and do their best. If they do not understand that, then they can pack their bags as well.

We are going to find out soon if this school cares about football. This may have HAD to happen for everyone there to understand the extensive problems. If they can respond, then great...we will be back in my children's lifetimes. If they continue to bury their heads in the sand, then this was the death of the program.

Let's see what happens...

It actually is worse this morning. Got word of an interview where Taylor said they were not prepared.

That’s absolutely damning. You lose a team quickly that way
That's my big disappointment. How can you not be prepared after all offseason and at home. And knowing you need a big year.

After stewing on it for a while, and then watching the Oregon/Auburn matchup, it is blatantly clear that we are light years behind where we need to be. I expected us to be not good this year, but we are sinking further down into a bottomless hole. There should be some improvement. Instead, Pruitt fields a team that is downright unready to play basic ball. This wasn’t a fluke.

The more I think about it, the administration needs to step in here. This is unacceptable, even with our current bottom of the barrel standards.

Money talks. You'd be surprised what people would do for money.

Old guys get younger girlfriends because of money.

Girls take their clothes off and become strippers or do porn for money.

People choose one job over another because of money.

I'm not trying to offend anyone here. I'm just pointing out that money is everything. Whether people want to admit it or not. Money decides if you even get to watch TN Football or even post on these forums, if you can even go to UT even though you only live 15 min away from campus, what clothes you wear, what food you eat (if you get to eat at all that day)

UT Football is one of the greatest colleges. We could get anyone we wanted. Everyone has a price.

Once we get some staff that is actually committed to turning UT Football around and we start blowing teams out of the water that we SHOULD beat (I'm looking at you Georgia State and Vandy) the money will come easily and we will make back what we gave up for a coach in no time. More fans in the stadium and more fans buying apparel = more money for UT. If they don't do something soon they will probably lose lots of money and it would just hurt us more the longer this continues.

They need to make an experienced coach an offer he can't refuse and get him in here and turn this thing around ASAP. That is how you turn UT Football around.

On another note besides the play on the field, the emptying ot the stands will not sit well with recruits. The class is literally gonna fall apart unless they pull out a miracle these next three weeks aka beat UF.

If we go on to beat florida and end up 9-3 this game wont even matter because who cares if we lost to GA state? 99 out of 100 we beat them and if we beat florida and every one else besides bama and gA it's a good look and year.

You shouldn’t even get mad at this point
We tried it our way, the fans way, and still screwed ourself.

The only person(s) who have leverage is mediocre Jimmy
Except we didn’t, they never hire a proven name. Ole miss used an interim, LSU uses an interim. You can’t do this 4-5 times in a row. Because the program loses any resemblance of respect it once had. Yesterday was not acceptable at any level. We are dying, if not dead, and our loyal fan base isn’t mad enough.

And if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass every time he jumped.

Let me guess, next week your line will be "If we beat Florida and end up 8-4, it won't matter we lost to Georgia St. and BYU!"

How many years we have to pay Pruitt the sooner he is out the better. Not the guy so now were in limbo of having him here and wishing we could send him back to Alabama. I think we'd have a better chance of winning with Chaney taking over as Interim and immediately firing a few coaches especially Friend and Rocker.

No if we lose next week I will no longer support Pruitt. No excuse to lose next week.

Still pissed. Players looked ready to go look for parties, liquor, weed and girls. Not necessarily in that order. Hell, coaches did too.

Good post. I agree 100%. When I saw this team play against WV last year I was shocked. It is crystal clear that the players do not want to play for Pruitt. These guys are 90% better than they have been playing. Pruitt doesn't even pass the eye test for me on being an average HC. He is pitiful. We need to chase Mike Norvell and Hugh Freeze for next year.

I always thought Butch Jones biggest goofs were firing the two coodinators he came here with. Pruitts is not firing friend and rocker.

Pruitt didn't even seem upset at this loss in interviews after this loss, it was like he didn't even care.

I dont think weather people make big money. I'm sure the actual meteorologists do better, but still not great.

Day after and the only bright spot I see is that Mizzou lost to Wyoming.
Haha, Wyoming?$! They lost to Wyoming?!!! Who loses to freaking Wyoming! Haha, oh wait, nevermind.

I would begin by firing the D. Corinator. Next would be the o.line coach and then every coach left would have salary redued by 100K for each game loss there after.
Strength and conditioning coaches too, the team looked out of shape and weak.

Can’t change yesterday. There are no secrets nor magic solutions. It’s obvious the culture within the program is murky. There’s been way too much change. Systemically it appears that new offensive and defensive systems are keeping our guys from “playing” the game. It also doesn’t sound nor look like anybody is having any fun on that Tennessee sideline.

Pruitt isn’t going anywhere. Butch Jones put this thing in a deep hole. It’s gonna be a tough grind. Leaders need to emerge. Now is when character is revealed, not built. Hopefully, the coaches see that the freshest faces get a chance to make their mark. If we’re gonna suck then let’s have fun watching all the new recruits.

All I’ve got. Sigh.....
