If Hamilton wants to act like he has balls then he needs to get this over quickly so we can get another big men to complement the talented guards coming in.

McRae is a scorer, and I think he will thrive under the next coach. He's got to learn to work his tail off defensively, but as far as a scorer he is that.

Chris Jones is lights out. Enough said.

Kenny Hall has great potential in the post for us. He has some very polished offensive moves but has got to work on his footwork defensively to stay out of foul trouble.

Kevin Ware is going to provide us some great athleticism and is your prototypical "slasher." If some of you guys haven't got a chance to watch him, his dunks are unreal.

You have a lot of potential in Maymon, Woolridge, and Tatum but the first two have a weak basketball IQ, and the last one may just need a coaching change to help him gain some confidence in his game again.

We are definitely hurting as far as post depth, but this team has some pieces to build around not only for next year but for the future.

Edit: Also if we can get a coach in quickly, he can form a bond with Scotty when Scott realizes he has a chance of not being drafted.

We are toast next season, No matter who is the coach. Scotty and Tobias are gone.

People have got to understand that a basketball rebuild and a football rebuild are completely different animals.

We were toast in 05 too, we may be surprised what a new coach will do without an NCAA probe distracting him all season. Can't say we are toast, still have talent that can develop. Haven't even heard who coach will be and real fans writing the team off.

Chris Jones will not be coming to Tennessee IF Pearl is fired, which still has not been announced yet. He has announced he is going to Louisville if there is a coaching change, so there goes the starting point guard and one of our major pieces IF Pearl goes. We will have some serious holes to fill including the point guard and Center positions. Also, Scotty has a great shot at being drafted, although you may personally feel like he doesn't. Scotty will definitely be drafted in the first 45 picks, top 2 rounds.

Are we planning on letting him out of his LOI? Is he planning on sitting out a year?

For his sake I hope the former, but if not the latter. He said today he is DEFINITELY not coming to Tennessee if Pearl is fired. I highly believe we will let him out of his LOI, or else it will make Hamilton look like even more of a jerk/idiot than he is.

I doubt we will let him out of his LOI, since we didn't let Tyler Smith out of his, and we made it clear we wouldn't let any Kiffin EEs out of theirs. Hopefully he'll like the new coach and will stay at UT rather than sitting out a year.

Go search for the link yourself, I read it this morning. It's 100% legit. Did we really think we were going to keep both of these recruits once we let go of Pearl. This will put us back at least 1 year, although we may still retain Ware.

Wow, 92% of people on Govols (over 1600) said they support Bruce Pearl over Mike Hamilton less than 100 votes (8%).

I've seen some of the posts at Govols. I think they would support PBR over oxygen.

Wow, I had no idea Hamilton was that unpopular. Never reallly hated the guy until this. Figured our team would still be rebuilding now with or without the Kiffin fiasco.

Just depends on the scheme the next coach runs. It would be nice to see smart, disciplined basketball again. It's been progressively harder to watch Pearl's teams, despite winning. (I'll take winning regardless of how it looks though.)

We are defintely letting Jones out of his intent, you know how bad that would make our school look if we didn't. Tyler Smith is a different situation.

They had a poll on Rocky Top Talk this morning, would you fire Bruce, Hammy, or both. 80% would either fire Hammy only or both. 31% would fire Pearl only or both.

So this distinction between being fired and being let go is important to you? What if Pearl resigns?

Well let's get this ball rolling Incipient on the Hammy firing. As an adult, it's a really serious thing to say someone needs to be fired, but after Hamilton's decision making and our performance in football and baseball the past few years I think it's made it a lot easier to fire the guy. Not to mention the way he acted handling the Pearl fiasco.

I'm ready. Just as soon as we're out of the tourney.

Actually, on the LOI, it will probably depend on the new AD. I don't know of Hammy ever letting anybody out of a LOI. But we don't know who will be there.
