Some think Cam Newton is the front-runner at this point. Do you agree?

He may not win it but if he is invited to the ceremony he may come home with it.

He's the leader at this point, but in the end, I doubt he wins it - even if he should. I think Auburn will lose to Alabama and get left out of the SEC Championship. If I were to predict who will actually win it, I'd say LaMichael James.

Yes, most definitely. A good game against LSU and it's his to lose.

I would tend to agree right now, but I expect someone else to pass him before season's end. One could argue James from Oregon over Newton right now.

If he can thwart Les Miles and his evil black magic, he should get it on principle alone.

He hasn't really had a "bad game" yet this year. I agree with that but if he has a bad performance against LSU, he can make up for it against Alabama.

Look at Terrelle Pryor though. With a RB, you can. Mark Ingram was replaced on the last drive against Auburn. Had a big game against UF in the SECGC and he wins the Heisman. But a QB it's really hard.

Yeah, I think right now it's LMJ vs. Newton and Newton has the edge. But it's a long season and LMJ's idea of a BAD game is 100+ yards and a TD.

I'm interested to see how Newton fairs down the stretch considering he's in a very defensive minded conference and still has to play the likes of LSU and 'Bama plus spread QB's live every Saturday on the edge, absolutely more injury prone then other positions... Oregon fans know this from experience. :cray:

Cam Newton might be having one of the best seasons a Heisman candidate could have. On pace to throw for 2,200 yards, and rush for about 1,400 yards. He leads the SEC in rushing, passing efficiency, and total offense by one player.

It is his to lose IMO. I think he's on track for something like 26 passing TD and 24 rushung TD in the SEC. Dude is legit
