They have Cortijo, who is a decent PG. I don't get the overstock at SG with Hayes, Ajavon, Simmons, Clarendon and Holmes. Unless they plan on having Ajavon play backup PG, they should offload one of them for a solid backup PG. Between the three they had (Johnson, Ariel, Jones), Ariel is the only one with a consistent outside shot, but Johnson is probably the best pure PG of the bunch.

Holmes will more than likely backup McCoughtry at the 3 spot, and having Ajavon play the PG position is a waste of her skill set imo. I think Clarendon may be the odd woman out because she is not as good of a defender as Ajavon and Hayes and she isn't as good of a scorer as Simmons and Hayes. Not only that Hayes is the Starter at the 2 spot and I am assuming based on being there the last 3 seasons with Michael Cooper that Ajavon will start at the PG position.

I wouldn't give up on Ariel still landing in ATL, they need a point as they have no true PG on the roster. I think she may be brought back at some point of the season

I don't think she will be,ml... The whole time she PG'd here I considered there may have been a truer PG right down the road with the TN Panthers org.: Ashley Mitchel, from Bristol TN during that time. She was a physical beast, very quick, and her floor vision and play-making and turnover ration and BH was off the charts. AT 5"7" she could touch the rim on a full-speed fast-break... She had to take a backseat to the existing PG at VCU during her F and Soph year, but got to play significant minutes this past season. She has a A/TO ration of 2.2, shoots 36% from 3pt and hits 70% FT's... And this is not with the type of talent she would have had at UT... But as we all know hindsight is 20/20.

I think Cortijo will start. I thought she was the starter last year as well when the French(?) player went out.

I don't expect Simmons to get much pt or put up big numbers, but it must be a relief for her to finally make a roster.

Cooper really likes her, he knows she can score as well, she will definitely be in when Angel takes a rest
