Trooper Talyor has probably been Coach Fulmer's best coaching hire since becoming head coach (at least one of the best). The second best hire Fulmer could make (hypothetically speaking) is Cuttcliff as the quarterback coach. Then you all would see true development of QBs at Tennessee again.

Just a thought and not intended to bash any other UT coaches.

i would have to say that coach caldwell was a pretty good hire too as the defensive end coach. just look at some of the athletes he's turned out.

Cutcliffe will not be back as a QB coach. He will more than likely take on an admin position at UT. Like director of football operations or something. Because if I were him, there is no way in hell I would return under Sanders.

Patrick do you not think Sanders did a good job getting two true freshman ready to play as well as keeping Clausen prepared to play when he did?

I know Cheif gets the credit, but Coach Brooks has been coaching some hoss DLinemen over the past few years.

Cut has said he wants to stay out of football for a couple of years. Heart surgery can do that to you... make you want to take a vacation that is.

Sanders thanks you...oh never mind...you can't return because there's no way in hell you'd ever be hired in the first place.

Why wouldn't they hire Cutcliffe.

aw come on smokey...why would we keep a terrible coach like Phillip? Maybe if we got David to come back he'd get rid of Randy and then maybe we could win a game or two.

People don't care about winning. They just want to see us come out and throw 50 times and run a few trick plays. :p

We've only won 82% of our games under this staff, I think it's time we make some moves.

Hey maybe we could get Hal Mumme. He did an excellent job at UK. :birgits_giggle:

We could have probably won 83 or 84% if we had been using 4 or 5 wideouts.

I wonder if him and Woody are still coaching together?

Yeh, they didn't win at Kentucky, but Mumme's brand of ball was "Entertaining"
I just never knew losing could be entertaining. Although, I guess Kentucky sucking all of the time is pretty entertaining.
After further review, Mumme ball is as good as advertised.

I would hope not, I'm not qualified to coach football.

Wow, I didn't realize they were at New Mexico State.

So when Mumme hired Widenhofer as his defensive coordinator at Southeastern Louisiana in 2003, it was a surprise that the former rivals had joined forces.

Now, they're Aggies, as Mumme is New Mexico State's first-year head coach, and Widenhofer is his defensive coordinator.

"We became golfing partners when we were playing against each other in the SEC," Mumme said this week. "We got to be friends and, when I took the job at Southeast Louisiana, Woody was available and I asked if he wanted to come down. He came down, thinking he was just going to consult for me and help me hire somebody. Then he came down to the golf course and talked him into it.

Not anymore, Mumme moved on to New Mexico State. Can't remember if Woody went with him...?
