I feel like there is a rivalry in the making w/ Georgia and it's been that way for a few years. Atleast it is for me cause one of my best friends is a Georgia fan, and it gets tense leading up to the game and during the game, as well as at least a week afterwards. I'm bringing him to Knoxville this year. Hope we win

I think we already have a rivalry with the Dawgs; especially after Munson's "Hob-Nail Boot" comment. As long a Richt is there, it's only going to intensify. I see SC becoming one too- depending on what Darth Visor does with them.

when were they not considered rivals?? i know we owned both of them in the 90's, but i don't think i've not ever considered them both a rival.

GA has gotten better with the arrival of Richt and Spurrier at SC gives instant credibility given the past games between CPF and SOS.

South Carolina will have to beat us more often for it to be a rivalry. It'll most likely die down when Spurrier leaves within the next five years or so.

Georgia is definately a rivalry now. Thats what losing four straight and three at home while they win 2 sec championships will do to you...it'll make you hate the crap out of them. Plus I think a lot of Vols fans and alumni live in metro-atlanta, so they already disliked uga, except now we have to hear about a lot more often.

With the separation of the SEC into East/West, the recent lack of success against the Richtified Dawgs, the proximity of K-town to Athens (easy 3.5 hour drive vs. twice that to Bama or Gainesville), and the attitude of the stereotypical Georgia fan, you have to say that UGA fits the bill. Last year, tickets were very scarce and very expensive, and the night game was INTENSE. Probably the biggest up-down swing of emotion I've experienced. It was getting downright ugly toward the end of the first half, and halftime was close to brutal. After the incredible comeback, we had one of the best post-game celebrations I've witnessed. . . .and it was in their house. This one will just get uglier.

But on a serious note... i dont think the gamechickens are quite there in my rival book(maybe their coach), but the dawgs have been on my list for years, i hate em! and lsu seems to be some what of a rival now.

At the moment its georgia since they had our number for awhile at the start of the millenium until the 2003 season. Keep in mind also that we haven't beaten them at Neyland since the Tee Martin days, something that only adds fuel to the fire. Things have gotten better as we've won 2 of the last 3 but they are alot tougher than they were in the 90s. South Carolina has the potential to turn into a threat as well, but winning 1 game against us since '93 isn't exactly a rivalry in my opinion.

That's what I'm talking about. Kiss this Mr. Spurrier!! Can't spell, wait a minute, how many bowl games have your Cocks been to in the last 10 years?

Maybe Bama will be restored to true rivalry game status in the eyes of younger/more recent fans who were not around in the days of the Bear and who do not consider a team that has lost 10 of the last 13 meetings to be much of a rivalry? I think there's a fear out there that a Saban led Tide will by-pass any sort of back-and-forth rivalry with UTK and restore Bama dominance in the series. Hopefully, that does not happen.

South Carolina has NEVER finished in the Top 10.

Georgia, and Florida are our two most important games every year so I would say they're our true rivals right now.

I would like to see Bama become UT's #1 rival again but it will take a couple years of great recruiting to get to your talent level...I don't think we'll ever dominate UT. I hope we can give y'all a game this year...but our defense will struggle.
