New top 5

1. Gruden
2. Mora Jr.
3. Gundy
4. Roman
5. Stoops

If these 5 fail you take Petrino.

1. Yep
2. Won't leave UCLA, not sure he's a 2 either
3. Yep
4. Would put him after Stoops/Gundy
5. ^

And I don't see any circumstance where Petrino is in the SEC this year...

If Stoops is on the list, he is number 2.

I can see stoops feeling like 10 wins is never enough at OU, the fact that we will be thrilled with 10 wins at first, but eventually demand more makes him lower on my list.

1. Gruden
2. Mora
3. Patterson
4. Stoops
5. Gundy

I honestly don't see Gruden coming. I could be wrong but I would take Mora or Patterson. Both can coach up players to their full potential. And take a second and look up TCU past defense stats.

I personally would be fine with Mora if we can grab him. I also think Larry Fedora doesn't get enough consideration.

Gruden, Patterson, Stoops, Strong, Tuberville. My bet is on Charlie Strong. Pretty much anything outside our top 4-5 choices will have a Dooley-type effect on the Fanbase. Alliances will form- Negavols and Coach X-Slurpers. Fans will be calling for his head after his first loss and will never let up. Coach X Slurpers will support the coach. Negavols will call Coach X Slurpers Negavols for excusing Coach X's shortcomings thereby dragging the program down further. CXS's will blame Negavols indirectly for lack of success. Coach X will get fired and we'll all meet right back here in 4-5 years...

No you dont take Petrino. He wont be coaching any SEC anytime soon.

If we don't hire him I hope your right because he's as good of a coach that has been named so far. I promise if we don't give him a look and then have to play him, we will regret it.

Say what?

Fulmer got fired for 2 losing seasons, but the catalyst of change was failure to win any SEC championships. Too many 10 win seasons with nothing to show for it, which would be why He leaves OU in the first place.

3. Peterson
4. Patterson
5. Gundy
6. Mora Jr.
7. Mullen
8. Strong
9. Fedora
10. Tubberville

I can go with that except 3 and 6 have zero chance of leaving their current jobs. Most of the fanbase would be rightfully disappointed with anyone after Mullen on this list.

I will root for Bama and Vandy before I would support a Charlie Strong hire.

If you really feel that way then you are a joke. Strong would be a good hire. Not my favorite but I wouldn't be upset if that happened.

Unfortunately 1 - 6 each are long shots but maybe we can get lucky with one of them! I would be ok with Mullen, Strong, or Fedora

Hell No to these:

Jimbo Fisher
Al Golden
Kirby Smart
La Tech Guy

After today, Strong, Mullen and Fisher have no business on any Vol list. All three lost to lesser talent in clutch situations for their programs. That is not what we need here. Also, Venables doesn't need to be on anyone's list of second or third tier candidates.

I think you can include Mullen in your disappointed list

I agree on Mullen and Strong , but I would take Fisher . Wasn't UF ranked above FSU
