Butch was an early adopter of Twitter and he's come out of the gate charging.

“It’s been a rule change, and you know what: we’re going to use it the best that we can and not let it interfere with our current team or anything like that,” Jones said.

With the rules, Tennessee can now promote when a prospect is visiting, retweet a commitment or “like” a post from a recruit who gives the Vols a shoutout online.

The new NCAA policy coincided with the first official date to send out written offers to prospective 2017 recruits, too, so many of Tennessee’s commits promoted UT’s latest scholarship graphics.

Saban doesn't even have a Twitter account so I'm not sure anyone can make the case that being a Twitter aficionado helps with recruiting.

It's more the recruits like attention. Most have been told very early if you tweet about liking UT the fans will give you all the attention ya want. Even if the recruit isn't really considering UT the Twitter attention boost is worth it to some.

Why do you want to judge him for the year when it is freaking August... If we do what we're supposed to do this year (win at least 10 regular season games) the recruits will come.

You sound like a kid complaining in July that Mom and Pops have only gotten you a couple of cheap gifts for Christmas.

And again, I'll say, it's August. I won't worry until he has given me a reason to worry. So far the one thing I can't knock him on is recruiting. I think it's idiotic to worry about that in August.

Saban has recent success to draw recruits in. He lets more dated technology called television to work for him.

If you can't see how Butch has used social media since day 1 to get the players he wanted, we could call the Lion's club, and have them get you a white cane and a seeing eye dog.
