Post summer rankings...

12. Robert Hubbs
17. Austin Nichols
37. Nick King (Memphis committ)
47. Jonathon Williams lll
50. Markel Crawford (Memphis committ)
61. Jajuan Johnson
83. Akoy Agau
108. Jarquez Smith
112. Terrence Samuel


King and Jw3 have done nothing but drop and drop the last year, while Nichols and Hubbs go the opposite way, that's interesting. Definitely makes you feel much better about losing king if we pull hubbs and Nichols.

Interested to see the final rankings in April. Not that these rankings mean much anyways, but they'll change these again after HS seasons finish up.

It's crazy to look at it now that O.J. Mayo was ranked higher than Derrick Rose.

Not really, it's a crap shoot, basically maor years those top 5 are any order and are just NBA quality guys flat out.

If you look through the recent years classss very rarely is the best player now from that class the #1 prospect.

05...mcroberts 1, Bynum 9
06...oden 1, durant 2
07...mayo 1, rose 5
08...pretty even w/ Jennings and holiday
09...favors 1, wall 2

Anthony Davis is for sure going to break that trend.

10 years ago it wouldn't have seemed crazy. I personally saw Mayo starting for his varsity team as a 7th grader and making kids 5-6 years older than him look silly. This would be less impressive if he were some genetic phenom with obvious physical advantages such as standing a foot taller than all his competition. But, he was a 6-3 do it all pg who dominated every player at any position as a 13-year old.

Even though Cuonzo didn't get King, at least he is making some headway in recruiting in Memphis. No one is ever going to get more players than what Memphis gets, but if he can get a choice few then he's doing alright.

I don't think any/many of us ever believed King would sign with Tennessee. I do think CM will get one or two of the top players from the Memphis area this year.

Good point.

He was ridiculously touted, and was a phenom. Going to USC, getting mixed up with the wrong people, and having a bad attitude slowed his development and allowed Rose to obviously surpass him. Mayo is in the NBA, yet probably hasn't tried to improve his game since about junior year of HS.
