New Polls (AP and Coaches) Jan 12th

Vols drop from #15 last week to #24 in AP. Vols no longer ranked in Coaches poll (previously #25)

Unbeaten Pitt stays at #1 in both polls. Duke stays at #2 in Coaches but falls to #3 in AP as unbeaten Wake moves up two spots to #2 after their win over UNC. UNC drops from #3 to #5 in AP and to #6 in Coaches. UConn moves up one spot to #4 in both polls. Unbeaten Clemson moves to #10 in AP and #9 in Coaches.

ACC has four teams in Top Ten (#2,#3,#5,#10) including 3 of the Top 5. Big East has three in the Top Ten (#1, #4, #8) but eight of the Top 25.

I agree. The Coaches poll is garbage. It's a popularity contest. Why do you think the Vols were ranked ten spots lower in the Coaches than the AP? They hate CBP.

That may change tonight, but all signs are that we are in the 30-40 range - we'll see how the rpi nets out.

he means that there is a discrepancy with one poll vs another, and it's unjustified. Yes, UT is not playing well right now, but that has nothing to do with what he's saying.
