New player

As of now, I would say Tatum. We may get another player though. Pearl has been talking Prince up, but he did that will Passley as well. Williams may play some and has gotten a little hype but I don't think he contributes like Tatum.

I thought Williams may be redshirting, but then I heard the other day someone say he could contribute a lot next season. Does anyone know how much he will play next season?

Coach Jones says 20 minutes. I'd say we should be happy if he can give what Childress gave his freshman year. I doubt he redshirts though.

The difference between Passley and Prince is that Passley was a mid-major prospect at best while Prince was one of the top players nationally.

That being said, I still think Tatum will be the biggest contributor next year as far as newcomers go.

I think Williams may be the most valuable newcomer.

If he can provide 20 quality minutes at the 5, Duke Crews will be able to spend much more time playing the 4. That would put Chism and Crews on the floor at the same time...and it'd keep Crews from having to play out of position. I think Duke could have a big time year at the 4.

Anyone else notice how the Buckeyes have Greg Oden 7'0 ft and now they sign another 7'0 ft prospect. That is gonna make them a huge rebounding team. Imagine fighting Oden and another 7'0 footer. Where is our 7ft guy, im wanting a big man of our own.

They actually got 2 7footers, top notch too, signed up for the 2007 class then the 2008 next year.

yeah i dont see Brian Williams redshirting.. he will be Chism's backup... and Childress will be Crews backup at the 4.. that will give us a 4 man rotation.. which is a little thin.. But it's still better than forcing bradshaw to play the 4 like this year..even tho he did an awesome job at it..
But i say that if we land that C. Harris guy then he will most definately be our biggest impact newsomer.. He's a complete stud.. and he's almost a 5 star!!

Pearl said in a recent interview that Chism would be moving to the 4 and Crews is staying at the 5. I don't really like that, but I'll trust Bruce.

Do you have a link to that interview? Not that I distrust what you're saying, it just doesn't appear to make a lot of sense.

Like you, I'll defer to Bruce Almighty's basketball genius, but Duke seems out of position at the 5.

No link. He also was talking up Prince to the point that some think he will end up starting over Jujuan(though he talked the same about Passley).

I think it makes some sense because wayne showed a lot of versatility this year with his ability to drive and shoot the three. His post game is only going to get better with time too so I can see him more of a 3/4 type of player. Duke's whole game is in the paint. Although he is a bit undersized, his athleticism will make up for a lot of it. He too will contribute greatly from a year of conditioning. Hopefully, he develops his jump shoot up to 15 ft.

Yeah, if crews only had a 15 foot jump shot.. he would be sooo dominant... All he does is post up and set screens.. he hardly even took a shot beyond 5 feet this year..

He never had to do that in HS because he could dominate with raw athleticism. Bruce will have him working on his shot in the offseason.

I think he's gonna have the biggest improvement coming into next season. He showed he could compete in the SEC on just raw athleticism. With a little tweaking to his game he might be scary good next year.

And timing on his defense, which is what seperates Tyrus Thomas from most other bigs when blocking shots.
