When Tennessee had that dismal season in 05 we fired Randy Sanders. I believe we do the same with Clawson..... But who would replace him as the offensive coordinator?

Brian Kelly. He's the HC/OC. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Go out and get a good DC and hire a special teams coach. Keep Scott and Drayton.

Kevin Steele if CPF hangs around...If CPF retires...Kevin Steele = HC.

someone has a crush on kevin steele... it wouldnt work anyway steele is a defensive coordinator... my pick: GUS MALZAHN!! He's had the nations top offense at Tulsa the 2 years he's been there and he's a excellent recruiter (he recruited Mitch Mustain to Arkansas)

He was Mitch Mustains highschool coach. If Arkansas didn't hire him he wouldn't have been at Arkansas. Saying he is a good recruiter based on that is a bit of a stretch.

Firing Clawson would be like putting a band-aid on a leg that was just severed by a great white shark.

There's no way lane kiffin goes from being an nfl head coach to a college offensive coordinator--especially with him being such a hot coaching commodity right now.

Oh, are we talking realistically? Sorry, there's been a lot of stretching on these boards lately

he recruited the top QB in the country idc whether he was his HS coach or not.... and you cant ignore the fact that the 2 years he's been at Tulsa, his offense has been the top in the country.

Mustain wasn't the top QB in the country. Not ratings-wise and sure as hell not talent-wise.

My point was to position Steele to become HC if not hire him directly into the position. He was HC at Baylor so he knows enough to be an interim OC long enough to get rid of CPF.

Malzahn has only been out of HS 3 years...give him a few more in D-1. Steele played at UT, has experience at every level, and recruited Bama's top class last year. Malzahn isn't even close to Steele.

the last thing we need is a defensive coordinator to try to provide a "spark" for our terrible offense. Kevin Steele only recruited 2 players last year (Quintin Dial, a 3 star, and Rod Woodson, a 4 star so he definetly not alabama's top recruiter).... and to top all the off he was 9-36 as a HC at baylor and was involved in what ESPN called one of the top 10 worst coaching calls of all time when he decided run the ball instead of kneeling down to run out the clock with just 12 seconds left. his team then fumbled, UNLV recovered and scored the game winning TD. Do you guys really want this guy as HC at UT?

No...We want a HS coach! Steele walked into a "pit" and had zero talent at Baylor. Bobby Ross was a very good coach at GT and won an NC and couldn't do squat at Army. There are some situations that can't be fixed.

but seriously, the 7 worst coaching call of all time and a 9-36 record? he would get KILLED at UT. And Malzahn isn't a HS coach anymore, he's tearing COLLEGE defenses at Tulsa. He can't help that he was a HS coach, everybody's gotta start somewhere (and i only suggested that Malzahn be our OC, not our HC)
