Does anyone know what the volquest articles says about someone being out of the running and another name surfacing? Better not be Adkins.

Cig. possibly out. The other name mentioned is watson brown but brent says hes not sure if he wasn't just in to talk a little football. He said he has heard nothing about him being mentioned as a coaching candidate.

does anyone know whether cig turned the job down or whether he was not offered the job? Just kind of curious as to who to blame it on when we end up with Greg Adkins as our OC.

I wonder if they still plan on anouncing a coach on tuesday, sounds to me everyone who has been interviewed is now out of the equation.

isn't it save to assume that volquest will put teasers out there to get you to buy the subscription.

if it is true, the VQ board is saying it is because he doesn't want to come from the west coast to the east coast and the cal job is right there.

So is cignetti definately out of question or is there still a chance he might come? I was really starting to like him the more I read about him. I really do not want troop or adkins and am afraid Fulmer is really going to blow this oppotunity.

from everything i have read: no one really knows. It is just speculation on brents part right now. I am sure he heard it some were from someone close to Cig. He said this yesterday and he said as soon as he he could confirm it that he would update everyone. But i haven't seen any updates in regards to it yet.

I believe that if Malzahn were to switch schools it would be for a head coaching job and I don't believe Hatcher would take anything less than a head coaching job either. Saying that I would love to have either of them is an understatement, but I just don't see Fulmer picking up a good coach.

i agree, i don't see Fulmer getting anyone that could threaten his job....he will blow this people...just watch...he panics and picks Adkins.

I don't want Cignetti. I don't know whats so great about him, but the 49ers offense, and Alex Smith (hurt or not) havn't been that much to smile about.
